presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the
\nEconomist Magazine has rendered as lies, \u201cridiculous claims\u201d made by Lai
\nMohammed, minister of information.<\/p>\n

The campaign organisation said this in response to a recent endorsement of
\nAtiku Abubakar by the magazine.<\/p>\n

When the research unit of the international business magazine had
\npredicted in September that PDP would defeat the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) in the 2019 presidential election, the minister had said the
\nprediction was based on fake premises and constituted fake news.<\/p>\n

Maintaining its previous stance, the magazine released another report,
\nalluding to Atiku\u2019s victory over Buhari.<\/p>\n

Atiku\u2019s campaign said the latest endorsement is a testament to the
\nachievements recorded under the watch of the PDP candidate as chairman of
\nthe National Council of Privatisation, when he was deputy of ex-President
\nOlusegun Obasanjo.<\/p>\n

The latest endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples
\nDemocratic Party, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, by the Economist
\nMagazine, puts to lies the recent ridiculous claims made by Alhaji Lai
\nMohammed, that the international media is askance of the candidature of
\nMr. Abubakar.<\/p>\n

This is the second endorsement in as many months by the world\u2019s number one
\neconomic and policy magazine. An endorsement based on the clarity of
\nvision and the detailed policies of the PDP\u2019s candidate when compared to
\nthe vague and empty promises of the incumbent All Progressive Congress
\nadministration of President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

As the Economist rightly states, the issues in 2019 are \u201cpopular
\nfrustration over the rise in joblessness and poverty (two of the biggest
\nvoter concerns) on Mr. Buhari\u2019s watch, as well as growing insecurity in
\ncentral Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n

No other candidate has the capacity to address these challenges, like
\nAlhaji Atiku Abubakar, under whose watch as Chairman of the National
\nCouncil on Privatisation, Nigeria had her highest growth in job numbers.<\/p>\n

Indeed, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, is poised to translate the
\nsignificant success he has made in his private business empire to the
\npublic sector. This anticipation is responsible for the momentum he now
\nenjoys in all the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

For the past one year, Mr. Abubakar has traversed the length and breadth
\nof Nigeria, selling his plans, vision and policies to Nigerians.
\nUnfortunately, rather than do the same, the All Progressive Congress has
\nfocused on negative campaigning by slandering Mr. Abubakar\u2019s past.<\/p>\n

We are not surprised by their actions. When a man\u2019s future intimidates
\npeople, they focus on lying about his past because they cannot compete in
\nthe present. However, we thank The Economist for proving that no matter
\nhow far and fast falsehood has traveled, it must eventually be overtaken
\nby truth.<\/p>\n

For now, we remind Nigerians that Atiku means JOBS. And by providing the
\natmosphere for Jobs, Opportunity, Being United (JOBS), Atiku Abubakar is
\nready to Get Nigeria Working Again.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
