The State High Court sitting in Kano has issued an interim injunction
\nrestraining the Kano State House of Assembly from investigating the
\nbribery allegation against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.<\/p>\n
The presiding judge, Justice A.T. Badamasi gave the order on Monday while
\nruling on an ex-parte application by one Muhammad Zubair, the National
\nCoordinator of Lawyers for Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Justice Badamasi granted the application filed on behalf of the plaintiff
\nby his counsel, Mr Nuraini Jimoh.<\/p>\n
Joined as defendants in the suit are the Kano State House of Assembly, the
\nHouse committee investigating the allegation against Governor Ganduje, and
\nthe Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in the state.<\/p>\n
He held that the respondents were served before the close of work today
\nwhile the hearing of the case should be accelerated.<\/p>\n
Justice Badamasi also issued a four-day ultimatum for the respondents to
\nrespond to the application and ordered the parties involved to \u2018maintain
\nstatus quo ante\u2019 pending the hearing of the motion on notice.<\/p>\n
