As the intrigues over who emerges President in 2015 election picks momentum, the Senate President, David Mark has the raised alarm over plots by those he described as mischief makers are bent on causing disaffection between him and President Goodluck Jonathan over who occupies Aso Rock.<\/p>\n
Mark, in a statement, warned groups against announcing his presidential ambition as it has a capacity to overheat the polity.<\/p>\n
Speculations have been rife that Mark intends to run in the 2015 presidential election.<\/p>\n
While, Jonathan during his last media chat said he would only speak of his intention whether or not to run for office in 2014, speculations, fueled by pronouncements by some of his aides have continued to give life to rumours that he intends to run for office.<\/p>\n
Mark said “the trade mark of this group is to consistently announce\u00a0 a presidential ambition or interest on behalf of the President of the Senate.<\/p>\n
“For this set of mischief makers , the premises of the National Assembly is either flooded with ” Mark for President” forms or distinguished senators are forming groups to canvass the said presidential interest.
\nNothing can be farther from the truth.<\/p>\n
“It is imperative to state and emphatically too, that Senator Mark and President Jonathan are on the same page in the onerous task of providing democratic dividends for Nigerians.<\/p>\n
“It is therefore irresponsible, mischievous and misplaced for any set of Nigerians to embark on over heating the polity at this time of our national history.<\/p>\n
