Nigeria\u2019s most operationally trustworthy, reliable\u00a0 and solution-oriented

\nJulius Berger Plc, has rewarded hundreds of its long-serving members of
\nstaff all across its operations in the country.<\/p>\n
At a colourful celebration of its workforce in Abuja last Saturday, the
\nfull complement of the executive management of the company was on hand to
\nhonour its hardworking, faithful, loyal, competent, and capable personnel
\nfrom across all of the firm\u2019s operational regions.<\/p>\n
The Managing Director of Julius Berger, Dr Lars Richter, PhD, expressed
\nappreciation to all the honourees \u201cfor reaching milestones in their
\ndedicated service spanning up to 40 years\u201d. This productive feat, Dr
\nRichter said, \u201cis tremendous and truly inspiring\u201d, adding that the
\noccasion was a stock-taking opportunity for the company\u2019s achievements as
\na whole, especially as it wraps up a very busy work year.<\/p>\n
2018, Dr Richter said, was filled with many positive developments and
\nachievements, which he ascribed to a great part to the hard work,
\nfaithfulness and loyalty of the company\u2019s staff, especially the
\nlong-serving honourees.<\/p>\n
The MD said Julius Berger, during the course of the year, successfully
\novercame many tough challenges, made great progress across all aspects of
\nits business, effectively restructured its operations to ensure the best
\nutilization of resources for projects’ needs, and expanded its Executive
\nManagement to enable a stronger focus on growth potentials.<\/p>\n
The company, he added, also very importantly\u00a0 attained\u00a0 the
\nrecertification\u00a0 of\u00a0 its\u00a0 Quality\u00a0 \u00a0Management\u00a0 System\u00a0 to\u00a0 meet\u00a0 the
\nstandards\u00a0 of the strategic ISO 9001. These achievements, Dr Richter said,
\n\u201cfurther advance our Company and serve to support the continued
\nrealization of operational goals, financial targets and strategic
\nobjectives\u201d which continue to manifest as \u201cstrong progress of works across
\nall active sites\u201d.<\/p>\n
The MD, described by colleagues as a no-nonsense and target engineering
\nand management professional, is famously reputed to have delivered the
\nAbuja Airport repair works before its scheduled delivery date as Project
\nManager.<\/p>\n
Dr Richter, in character with Julius Berger\u2019s operational values, used the
\noccasion to celebrate the company\u2019s capacity for completing works for
\nsignificant projects to the full satisfaction of its clients.<\/p>\n
He cited the Azura Independent\u00a0 Power Plant, which was\u00a0 handed over ahead
\nof the scheduled completion date, and the Economic and\u00a0 Financial Crimes
\nCommission Head Office\u00a0 in Abuja,\u00a0 which was commissioned\u00a0 successfully.
\nOther notable private sector and national priority projects acquired by
\nJulius Berger Plc since the year began include the Bodo-Bonny Road and
\nBridge, the Second Niger Bridge, Itu-Calabar-Odukpani Road, Lagos Shagamu
\nExpressway, Famfa Oil Tower, the Abuja-Kano Road; and most recently, the
\nNigerian Immigration Office in Abuja.<\/p>\n
Dr Richter said:\u201cThese projects add exciting dimension to our longstanding
\nimpressive portfolio, especially considering the positive social and
\neconomic impact priority projects will provide to Nigeria, when
\ncompleted\u201d.<\/p>\n
He added emphatically that \u201cthe new innovative cold recycling methodology
\nfor road rehabilitation introduced recently into the country by Julius
\nBerger at the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Road project, further solidifies our
\nleadership position in the construction sector, not only in regards to
\nservice and quality, but also in terms of technological innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n
He expressed confidence that Julius Berger\u2019s successful pioneering of the
\ninnovative methodology has the potential to revolutionize road
\nrehabilitation projects across Nigeria, and that Julius Berger will
\ncontinue to lead the charge in achieving this.<\/p>\n
He urged the company\u2019s workers to focus on increasing operational
\nperformance, strong technical knowhow, quality workmanship and expertise \u2013
\nall factors that will remain the cornerstone of Julius Berger\u2019s unmatched
\nperformance.<\/p>\n
Speaking directly to the honourees, Dr Richter said, \u201cYou are beacons of
\ninspiration for those around you and role models for new hires. I am
\nsincerely honoured to stand before you as Managing Director and feel proud
\nto work with such an outstanding group of professionals\u201d.<\/p>\n
Speaking also in the same vein at the event, the company\u2019s Executive
\nDirector, Administration, Alhaji Zubairu Ibrahim Bayi stated that \u201cJulius
\nBerger is what it is today as a result of a dedicated and reliable
\nworkforce\u201d. He declared that \u201cbecause the company\u2019s workforce is the
\ngreatest asset of the company\u201d, staff welfare and motivation is paramount
\nin everything Julius Berger does.<\/p>\n
Bayi on behalf of the entire workers and management of Julius Berger Plc
\nthen pledged to the MD, Dr Richter, the unwavering support, co-operation
\nand loyalty of all members of the Julius Berger work family to make his
\ntenure as MD a huge success.<\/p>\n
In total, 102 members of staff got 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years awards for
\nconsistent service to the company, and 476 other workers of the Julius
\nBerger corporate family received honours for 10 and 15 years of continuous
