The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged plot by the main
\nopposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to induce Independent National
\nElectoral Commission (INEC) officials and the security agents to pave the
\nway for them to rig the Saturday\u2019s election.<\/p>\n
The party also alleged that the PDP has concluded plans to distribute
\nbetween five and ten million dollars to the states for logistics and
\nmobilisation for the polls.<\/p>\n
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu said in
\na statement on Thursday that the new plot was hatched at a strategic
\nmeeting held by the party on Thursday to review a confidential report from
\nthe election consultant that asked the party to work out ways of winning
\nthe Presidential elections.<\/p>\n
The statement reads \u201cFollowing the leaked confidential report by the
\nforeign elections strategists\/consultants contracted by the People\u2019s
\nDemocratic Party (PDP) which stated that the PDP\u2019s presidential candidate,
\nAlh. Atiku Abubakar will lose the forthcoming elections, we have received
\ncredible intelligence on some of PDP\u2019s ominous plans ahead of the
\nelections.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe apparently orchestrated arson attacks on some facilities of the
\nIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC); syndicated fake news and
\nplanted false reports on the elections are part of the PDP\u2019s strategies
\nahead of the Elections.
\n\u201cThe confidential report by the foreign elections strategists\/consultants
\nhas recommended that the PDP take \u201curgent steps to rectify the situation\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the PDP\u2019s strategy meeting held a few hours ago, the opposition party
\nresolved to monetarily induce major actors and institutions in the
\nelectoral process with a view to compromising them ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this regard, the main opposition party has perfected plans to share
\nmoney to persons and actors considered critical to the success of the
\nelections. The PDP has also perfected plans to distribute between 5 and 10
\nmillion dollars to the States for \u201clogistics and mobilisation\u201d on election
\nday.<\/p>\n
\u201cPDP\u2019s targets in the well-oiled machinery are INEC officials, security
\nagencies and observers. This is expected to make such persons agreeable to
\ntheir rigging plots and other evil machinations. The PDP is also using
\nfaceless bloggers to attack frontline security agencies in the social
\nmedia as part of their plan to discredit the agencies.<\/p>\n
