\u00a0The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the Government of the All<\/div>\n

Progressive Congress, APC, of sabotaging the Independent national
\nElectoral Commission, INEC.<\/p>\n

PDP in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said
\nAPC’s well orchestrated plot to engineer a staggered elections is reason
\nthe ruling party is sabotaging the efforts of INEC to conduct the general
\nelections.<\/p>\n

The Statement Reads:<\/p>\n

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wishes to alert Nigerians that
\ncontrary to simulated stance by the Buhari Presidency and National
\nChairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, fresh
\nfacts have confirmed that elements of the Federal Government and the APC
\nhave been sabotaging the Independent National Electoral Commission
\n(INEC) in a well-orchestrated plot to engineer a staggered presidential
\nelection.<\/p>\n

“Nigerians will recall that the PDP had vehemently protested the
\ncontinued retention of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s relation, Mrs. Amina
\nZakari, in INEC. We have been reliably informed that the same Amina
\nZakari and another high-ranking INEC commissioner played a pivotal role
\nin assisting the APC and Buhari Presidency in sabotaging the operations
\nof INEC and scuttling the February 16 elections.<\/p>\n

“The reason for this is that President Buhari is determined to have a
\nstaggered election where he can use security agencies to subvert the
\nwill of the people at the polls.<\/p>\n

“These APC elements in INEC engineered actions that affected the
\ndistribution and delivery of INEC sensitive materials to designated
\nlocations, thereby frustrating the electoral process.<\/p>\n

“We also have details of how a hired a team of data hackers corrupted the
\nvoters register, with a view to cause mass confusion and voters
\nsuppression on the election day.<\/p>\n

“Nigerians would have been shocked that many registered voters in
\npossession of their Permanent Voter\u2019s Cards (PVCs) would have arrived
\ntheir polling centers on election day, only to discover to their
\namazement that their names have disappeared from the register in their
\nunits.<\/p>\n

“Intelligence available to us further details how agents of the Buhari
\nPresidency infiltrated the distribution system and ensured that
\nsensitive election materials do not arrive at the designated locations,
\nwith the views to stall elections in several states and pave way for a
\nstaggered election.<\/p>\n

“This is in addition to deliberate swapping of sensitive election
\nmaterials between different states and local governments so as to muddle
\nup the process and stall election in affected areas. In some of states
\nlike Edo, sensitive election materials did not arrive at their
\ndesignated points on APC interruption.<\/p>\n

“The PDP urges Nigerians to continue to be alert in resisting the APC and
\nthe Buhari Presidency in their plot to sabotage our elections.<\/p>\n

“Our promise to Nigerians is that we will continue to stand with the
\npeople in exposing APC\u2019s rigging plots and stopping them from creating
\nmore havoc and destruction of our democratic process.<\/p>\n

“We therefore call on President Buhari to save himself from further
\ndisgrace, as the signpost of enemy of democracy, by ensuring that his
\ncabal and their ilk in APC cease forthwith from tampering with our
\nelectoral process.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
