Opposition Political Parties under the aegis of Coalition of United<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Political Parties, CUPP, has accused Residence Electoral Commissioners,
\nREC, All Progressive Congress, APC and the Army of holding back results in
\nthe North West and North East for the purpose of padding up figures for
\nPresident Mohammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

CUPP in a statement signed by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere,also alleged that the
\nEnugu State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, other Governors of the South
\nEast and Residence Electoral Commissioners in the East are being pressured
\nto pad votes for Buhari.<\/p>\n

The statement reads:<\/p>\n

The CUPP is in possession of irrefutable evidence that APC Governors of
\nthe North west and some of North East geo political zones are working
\nassiduously to inflate the number of votes scored by President Muhammadu
\nBuhari in those regions so as to neutralize the landslide lead of Alhaji
\nAtiku Abubakar in the other four geo political zones.<\/p>\n

They have most shockingly secured the\u00a0 ignoble collaboration of the
\nNigerian Army which has begun to give cover to APC Chieftains and
\ncompromised electoral officers to hold back the results from the areas
\nand to later attempt to smuggle in the inflated results.<\/p>\n

Also having confirmed from their situation room that the numbers do not
\nadd up and that President Buhari also failed to secure the
\nconstitutional 25% of the votes cast in each of two thirds of the states
\nof the Federation, the President and his Party are mounting pressure on
\nthe Enugu State Governor and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner
\nincluding other South East States to alter some results so as to award
\nat least 25% of the Votes to the President. It is instructive that
\nPresident Buhari did not secure the 25% votes in any of the States of
\nthe South East. It is also in this same light that the outgoing
\nadministration is plotting to frantically to declare the results of the
\nFCT as inconclusive so as to order a rerun where they will use security
\nand thugs to intimidate the people.<\/p>\n

We hereby call on the Electoral Commission not to cancel any results
\nalready declared where no incidents were recorded but only for the
\nPresident to have the opportunity to have an unmerited second chance.<\/p>\n

The opposition Presidential Situation Room has completed compilation of
\nPolling Unit result sheets and tabulation of all results and we have
\ncalled the election for the incoming President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
\nWe may however be compelled to release these results to the public to
\nforestall INEC from playing the games the APC is prodding them to play.<\/p>\n

Our candidate won in a vast majority of the almost 120, 000 Polling
\nUnits across the country. We wonder how INEC would now cancel results of
\nelections where even agents of the ruling party signed and where they
\nlost.<\/p>\n

The credibility of this election must be maintained and not tarnished
\nbecause of the undeserved extended ambition of a man who failed woefully
\nin office.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has won the elections. President Buhari and the
\nAPC know this hence their desperation to attempt to overturn the will of
\nthe people. But we sound this note of warning to them; we shall
\nsuccessfully resist any human force that wants to tamper with the
\nvictory of our candidate and the will of the majority of Nigerians.The
\nattempt to foist on Nigerians an illegitimate President through
\ninflation of electoral figures have failed .The People have elected a
\nlegitimate President in the Person of Atiku Abubakar going by the
\nPolling Units results in our firm custody and we have no fear or doubt
\nabout our ability to defend the sacred mandate Nigerian people have
\ngiven to Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n
