…No One Can Stop Us From Going To Court<\/p>\n

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said it has evidence of massive
\nrigging and election fraud never seen by anyone, vowing that nobody can
\nstop the party from approaching the court to reclaim its \u2018stolen\u2019 mandate.<\/p>\n

The National Peace Committee led by former military Head of State, Gen.
\nAbdulasalami Abubakar (Chairman), John Cardinal Onaiyekan and Bishop
\nMatthew Hassan Kukah, had on Thursday met with the PDP presidential
\ncandidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his Vice Presidential candidate, Peter
\nObi, Senate President and Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign
\nCouncil, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives,
\nYakubu Dogara, and National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus.<\/p>\n

However, Secondus while addressing a press conference Friday tagged, \u2018APC
\nBody Bag Election\u2019 in continuation of its update on last Saturday\u2019s
\npresidential election, said the party had enough evidence to approach the
\ncourt.<\/p>\n

He added that the party cannot forgo approaching the court based on the
\nsubmission of the international observers which he said had been
\nthreatened before the election and that their observation cannot be relied
\non.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cWhen All Progressives Congress, APC, leaders were
\nthreatening foreign election monitors with returning to their country in
\nbody bags we didn\u2019t know that they had designed the same thing for
\nNigerians.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs at the last count, over 50 Nigerians have lost their lives since last
\nSaturday, most of them from the South South region where a division of the
\narmy with their commander were turned on the people on Election Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Secondus noted that as part of their strategy to ensure that PDP was
\ndistracted from pursuing its stolen mandate, Buhari\u2019s regime had decided
\nto intensify their intimidation and strangulation of the opposition.<\/p>\n

He noted that some prominent members of the opposition had been put on
\nsurveillance and their names listed to be stopped from traveling out of
\nthe country.<\/p>\n

On the meeting with the Peace Committee, Secondus noted; \u201cThere was no
\ncondition. Initially, we were not to talk with them because a decision had
\nbeen taken to go to court. But because of the personalities involved, we
\nsaid ok, let\u2019s just talk. It was no condition. There was no request of any
\ncondition.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will go to court. Nobody will stop us from going to court and bring
\nall of the facts both the international observers and some people have not
\nseen. We will unearth them at the courts and I believe that justice will
\nbe done at the courts.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if we continue to suppress injustice and go sentimental, the
\ncountry will continue to pile up gun powder that will explode one day. So
\nmuch injustice have been done in this country and if we allow it and it
\ncontinues to pile, nobody knows what will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

The national chairman said that was why the party decided as good citizens
\nand law-abiding and people who believe in rule of law to challenge the
\nelection in the court of law.<\/p>\n

Secondus stressed that the party would not be depending on the comments of
\nobservers that were threatened.<\/p>\n

He stressed, \u201cThey were threatened and so, what do you expect them to say?
\nThey have to go home with their lives. They were threatened and silenced.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe made it clear that unless the injustices were addressed, there is no
\nroom for peace. It is only when you address the injustice that you can now
\nsit down for peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, whatever interpretation that was done by anybody, let it be clear to
\nanybody that we did not give condition, they did not request for it, it
\nwas like , look, state what really happened in the election and we told
\nthem how the military took over the election and conducted the election in
\nfavour of APC,\u201d Secondus stressed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
