Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has lambasted the national chairman of
\nthe All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomole accusing him
\nof conducting fraudulent party primaries and destroying the party in the
\nsoutheast.<\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s reaction was sequel to the suspension slammed on him
\nalongside his Ogun state counter Ibikunle Amosun, the Minister of Niger
\nDelta Affairs Usani Uguru and Director- General of Voice of Nigeria, (VON)
\nMr. Osita Okechukwu, during the National working committee\u00a0 NWC meeting
\nheld in Abuja on Friday.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development via\u00a0 his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Sam
\nOnwuemeodo in Owerri, the Imo state capital,\u00a0 Okorocha alleged that
\nOshiomhole was determined right from the outset to destroy the party in
\nthe South-East.<\/p>\n

He accused the former Edo state governor\u00a0 of having a hand in all the
\ncrisis in the South-East states, arising from what he described as the
\nfraudulent manner he conducted the party primaries.<\/p>\n

The governor, recalled that in 2015, he joined the merger that gave birth
\nto APC at the risk of his second tenure and was called all sorts of
\nunprintable names, yet, he won the governorship election and delivered 24
\nout of the 27 members of the House of Assembly for APC, two House of Reps
\nmembers and one Senator.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cIn 2019, Oshiomhole felt that such a man should be
\ntreated with disdain. He handed over the governorship ticket of the party
\nto Hope Uzodinma who has never resigned his membership of the PDP on the
\nfloor of the Senate like others did, giving all kinds of flimsy excuses.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if Oshiomhole had meant well for APC and Imo people in particular,
\nwould he have given the ticket of the party to a man facing five
\ncorruption charges and having travel ban slammed on him, to be the party\u2019s
\ncandidate?<\/p>\n

\u201cIn February 23, 2019, presidential and National Assembly election,
\nGovernor Okorocha won in ten, out of the twelve local governments in Orlu
\nzone to emerge winner for Imo West senatorial district.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also delivered four House of Representatives candidates on the
\nplatforms of APC and AA respectively, with one Senate seat and two House
\nof Representatives seats outstanding.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when the APC members across the nation are still celebrating the
\nsuccess of the party in the presidential and National Assembly elections,
\nOshiomhole in his wisdom or lack of it, felt that the best action in the
\ncircumstance is to suspend two governors who did well in the election,
\neven when he played safe in 2015 and 2019 in Edo State without any known
\npressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain, Oshiomhole coming up with the purported expulsion this time was
\nonly acting out of the fear that God in his infinite mercy could give
\nGovernor Okorocha a role to play in the Senate, in the overall interest of
\nthe nation.<\/p>\n

He added that \u201d Men like him hardly sleep with their two eyes closed, they
\nalways sleep with their eyes open because they have murdered sleep with
\ntheir actions and inactions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd unfortunately for him, the purported expulsion can\u2019t stand because
\nthe law has taken care of it even long before now,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
