Wife of the President, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has advised the
\nruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider only
\ncard-carrying members for political appointments. She made the call at a
\ndinner to celebrate the victory of the President at Daura, his home town
\non Thursday 7th March, 2019.<\/p>\n
The event, which took place at the Daura Stadium attracted women and youth
\nsupporters of the APC from across Katsina state.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Buhari noted that the constitution of the party specifies that
\nappointments to offices in an APC led government should go to
\ncard-carrying members; she therefore advised that the party constitution
\nshould be respected.<\/p>\n
She expressed appreciation over the support that the party enjoyed in the
\nlast Presidential election, especially from women and youth and assured
\nthem that government will do more to improve their lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish to thank the women and youth of this country for the number of
\nvotes they gave President Buhari in the 2019 election and to assure that
\nhe will continue to do his best to make Nigeria a better country.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of the speakers at the event, Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi
\nSirika praised the electorate for choosing President Buhari, whose
\nintegrity, he said, is time-tested. He assured them that the second tenure
\nwill result in development in all spheres of endeavor. He commended Mrs.
\nBuhari for her initiative of engaging women and youth during the
\npresidential campaign, which resulted in the massive votes recorded.<\/p>\n
Good will messages were delivered by many politicians including Woman
\nLeader of the APC Women and Youth Presidential Campaign Team, Mrs. Binta
\nMuazu, and Senator Fatuhu Mohammed, representing Daura Zone.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by wife of the Governor of Katsina state, Mrs.
\nZakiyya Masari, wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Mannir Yakubu and wife
\nof Minister of Interior, Mrs. Hadiza Dambazau.<\/p>\n
