\u00a0Senator Bassey Albert from Akwa Ibom has disclosed that thugs allegedly hired by Ita Enang, an Aide to President Mohammadu Buhari shot a People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, supporter in Ibiono Ibom, Akwa Ibom State during the Governorship elections.<\/div>\n

\nHe said while the victim is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, turnout in the areas have been largely impressive.<\/p>\n

” The turnout has been impressive, far better than the last election. Election commenced in my unit about 9:45am.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the reports I get, It has been generally peaceful except in few units like ward 2, unit 12 which is Senator Ita Enang’s unit. He hijacked materials there again as he did on the last election. One of our supporters was shot there. We have rushed him to the hospital. I pray he survives.<\/p>\n

” Also, unit 11, which is the adjacent unit to Ita Enang’s unit, I understand that they hijacked results sheet and burnt election materials. We also had issues in Unit 3, Ward 4 where an APC chieftain hijacked materials to his abode.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s the Ward of the Federal House candidate. I think all these is about giving the right leadership because I cannot see why I should run away with the materials of my unit. If a politician runs away from his village, it means he has been rejected by the people. It is now left for INEC to do justice and ensure that the will of the people stand.”<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
