Rivers State Governor,\u00a0 Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has announced that the State
\nGovernment will set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to ensure that the
\nFederal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) personnel who killed Dr Ferry
\nGberegbe,\u00a0 PDP Khana Collation Agent are brought to justice .<\/p>\n

Governor Wike also announced a N200million scholarship for the four
\nchildren of the Late Dr Gberegbe,\u00a0 directing the widow of the deceased to
\nopen bank accounts for each of the four children.<\/p>\n

“We will\u00a0 set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to ensure that the
\nculprits are brought to Justice.\u00a0 It is unfortunate that F-SARs\u00a0 killed
\nthe PDP Collation Agent.<\/p>\n

“The State Government will offer scholarship to the four young children
\nleft\u00a0 behind by the deceased. The Mother of the children should open
\ndedicated account for each of the children.\u00a0 The State Government will pay
\nN50million to each of the four children for their education ”<\/p>\n

He spoke\u00a0 on Saturday in Port Harcourt when he led leaders of Rivers State
\non a condolence visit to the family of the slain lecturer .<\/p>\n

The governor decried the shooting of the late lecturer by men of F-SARs
\nled by Rivers F-SARs Commander,\u00a0 Akin Fakorede,\u00a0 at the Khana Collation
\nCentre,\u00a0 where he served as the PDP Collation Agent. He said the fatal
\nshots led to his death.<\/p>\n

He said: “It is most unfortunate that the young man was shot dead by
\nF-SARs led by Akin Fakorede in an attempt to cart away election results.<\/p>\n

“Instead of us to allow people to choose who will represent and govern
\nthem, the security agencies will not allow that. Rather they prefer to
\nkill us.<\/p>\n

“He died in the course of the defending the PDP. He died in the course of
\ndefending democracy.\u00a0 I want to assure the family\u00a0 that all those who
\nkilled him will not go free”.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike said the Late Dr Ferry Gberegbe remained committed to the
\nPDP\u00a0 even on his sick-bed. He said the deceased sent him a text message
\nsaying that he would very happy\u00a0 when Governor Wike is declared winner of
\nthe election.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike stated that the State Government will also construct a house
\nfor the family of Late Dr Ferry Gberegbe and participate\u00a0 in his burial.<\/p>\n

Also speaking,\u00a0 PDP National Chairman,\u00a0 Prince Uche Secondus said the late
\nlecturer was a victim of the calculated oppression\u00a0 of the oil rich states
\nby the Army and the F-SARs.<\/p>\n

He said that the country is in distress,\u00a0 noting that the nation is
\nsitting on the leg of gun-powder in view of the negative activities of the
\nFederal Government.<\/p>\n

“The Commander of F-SARs,\u00a0 Akin Fakorede will kill several people and he
\ncannot be transferred or disciplined.\u00a0 The Police and Army have become
\npoliticians,\u00a0 always responding to politicians “, he said.<\/p>\n

Widow of the deceased,\u00a0 Mrs Funke Gberegbe said that the family\u00a0 is yet to
\nfully celebrate the doctorate degree bagged by Dr Gberegbe before he was
\nbrutally murdered by F-SARs operatives\u00a0 at\u00a0 the Collation Centre.\u00a0 She
\nsaid that her late husband was the pillar of the family whose sudden death
\nwill negatively impact their lives.<\/p>\n

Father of the deceased,\u00a0 Mr Conduct Gberegbe said he was shocked\u00a0 by the
\nkilling\u00a0 of his son by F-SARs operatives.\u00a0 The retired police officer
\ndescribed the late academic as his hope and future .<\/p>\n

Ben Lekia, brother of the deceased,\u00a0 said the slain academic only recently
\nbagged his doctorate and was preparing to make further progress before he
\nwas cut down.<\/p>\n

Several mourners\u00a0 gathered at the residence of the deceased to sympathize
\nwith his family.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
