WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA DEMAND INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE AGAINST PRESIDENT
\nBUHARI AND REJECT THE 2019 FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA PRESIDENTIAL
\nELECTION OUTCOMEAS BEING FRAUDULENT AND A VIOLATION OF THE WILL OF THE
\nNIGERIAN PEOPLE AND INTERNATIONAL LAW<\/p>\n

WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA is an NGO grassroots movement in the Federal
\nRepublic of Nigeria based upon the principles that the common man has the
\ncapacity and power to change the system for the better, through democratic
\nprocesses and advocate for a new nation based on the principles of
\ndemocracy, equity, and social justice for all regardless of race,
\nreligion, ethnicity, or gender.<\/p>\n

WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA strongly condemns the illegal, corrupt and
\nfraudulent electoral practices of Pres. Buhari and his associates and
\ncategorically reject the declaration of victory by Pres. Buhari as not
\nbeing legitimate or reflective of the will of the People of Nigeria. We
\nalso condemn the violence, intimidation, oppression and threats inflicted
\nupon the voters of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA rejects the declaration of\u00a0 the Independent
\nNational Election Committee as regards Buhari\u2019s fraudulent victory and we
\nask that all Nations join us in the condemnation of Pres. Buhari, his
\npolitical party the All People\u2019s Congress, and others who have worked
\ntogether to steal the elections from the People of Nigeria and circumvent
\ntheir rightful ballot-box choices.<\/p>\n

WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA has spearheaded initiatives to galvanize
\ninternational support for a fair and legitimate process to determine the
\nwinner of the February 23, 2019, Nigerian Presidential Election.
\nOverwhelming credible evidence demonstrates fraud, intimidation, violence,
\nand manipulation tainted the first results reported by the Muhammadu
\nBuhari administration.<\/p>\n

Among other things, WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA has visited Washington DC in
\nthe United States of America (USA), London in the United Kingdom (U.K.)
\nand the European Union (EU) in Brussels Belgium in late January and early
\nFebruary 2019.<\/p>\n

The team visited House and Senate members of the United States Congress,
\nmet with the United States State Department, and delivered a letter to
\nPresident Donald Trump.\u00a0 The team then traveled to the United Nations in
\nNew York to submit a letter to Acting United States Ambassador to the
\nUnited Nations, the Honorable Mr. Anthony Cohen.<\/p>\n

The WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA envoys next journeyed to London, U.K. to
\ndeliver letters to British Prime Minister, The Right Honorable Miss
\nTheresa May at No. 10 Downing Street, and, to Chatham House and the Office
\nof Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.<\/p>\n

Lastly, the team delivered a letter to the Secretary General of the
\nEuropean Union Parliament.<\/p>\n

The uniform message was the illegitimacy of the pre-planned Buhari
\nvictory; President Buhari\u2019s long planning for electoral fraud, violence,
\nand intimidation, and the urgency of international action to prevent
\nBuhari from profiting from his own electoral crimes.<\/p>\n

Even before the balloting began, WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA urged preventive
\nmeasures to deter President Buhari.\u00a0 United States Secretary of State Mike
\nPompeo was urged to follow the steps of predecessor John Kerry in 2015 and
\nvisit Nigeria to warn both major candidates that election violence would
\nbe unacceptable to the international community.\u00a0 Although the visit did
\nnot happen, the efforts of WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA were, in part,
\nresponsible for a personal telephone call from Sec. Pompeo to both
\nPresident Buhari and to the PDP candidate former Vice President Atiku
\nAbubakar, GCON, urging a fair, transparent and peaceful election.
\nUnfortunately, Pres. Buhari chose to ignore the admonitions from the U.S.
\nSecretary of State and flouted the international criminal rules that
\nprohibit electoral violence, coercion and corruption.<\/p>\n

The need to deter Buhari from electoral malpractices was self-evident
\nduring the run-up to the February 2019 voting.\u00a0 His trademark is scorn for
\nthe rule of law.\u00a0 In 1984, the General Buhari executed a military coup
\nagainst the democratically elected civilian government.\u00a0 Since his
\ninauguration in 2015, President Buhari has presided over and often
\nencouraged the slaughter of thousands of innocent, peace-loving
\nChristians, Shi\u2019ite Muslims, farmers, and others with impunity.\u00a0 He has
\nturned the judicial and legislative branches into appendages of the
\nexecutive, including chronic violations of judicial decrees. He has
\nremoved and prosecuted the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court without due
\nprocess because fearful of an adverse ruling in litigation challenging his
\npre-planned fraudulent electoral victory.\u00a0 He also brandished the army and
\npolice to intimidate the populace to ensure his corrupt election.<\/p>\n

Buhari\u2019s anemic approval ratings spawned his lawless RIG TO WIN strategy.
\nWE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA is accordingly energized to thwart his nefarious
\ndesigns to cheat the Nigerian People of self-determination and continue to
\ncarry the fight forward to correct the injustice of President Buhari\u2019s
\ncorrupt election.\u00a0 The efforts of WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA frighten the
\nBuhari administration.<\/p>\n

His minister of information Mr. Lai Mohammed criticized the trip. Governor
\nEl-Rufai, a top Buhari supporter issued a death threat to anyone from
\noutside Nigeria that expressed concern about Nigerian electoral violence
\nor fraud.<\/p>\n

Despite the unwearied labors of WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA, the
\ninternational community idled while Buhari executed his RIG TO WIN
\nlawlessness.<\/p>\n

As WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA predicted, Buhari is now slaughtering people
\nin Rivers State, Kano, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto and other states with impunity.<\/p>\n

The Niger Delta is in flames.<\/p>\n

The Army, Navy, Air Force and the police are shooting innocent citizens in
\nAbonnema, Ogoni, Ahoada in Rivers State, as well as in Igboland and
\nthroughout the Middle Belt.<\/p>\n

President Buhari is exterminating the Christians in Southern Kaduna.<\/p>\n

The Middle Belt people are under siege and being slaughtered on a daily
\nbasis.<\/p>\n

The forces of President Buhari are using the 2019 Presidential Election as
\nan excuse to murder the people of Rivers State who are being shot like
\ndogs and also slaughtered in their homeland states by federal troops.<\/p>\n

Several state elections have been declared inconclusive to enable
\nPresident Buhari to club them into submission.<\/p>\n

For these reasons and more of the same, WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA
\nrespectfully urges:<\/p>\n

*The United Nations Security Council place Nigeria on a watch list pending
\nthe outcome of legal challenges to Buhari\u2019s election.<\/p>\n

*The Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court open an
\ninvestigation of Buhari and his Army Chief of Staff, General Tukur Yusuf
\nBuratai, along with his agents and cronies such as Minister of Transport
\nMr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Mr. Asita Honor Asita, Mr. Tony Cole and
\nnumerous others for crimes against humanity perpetrated in connection with
\nthe February and March 2019 election in Rivers State and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

*The United States House of Representatives and Senate pass a joint
\nresolution condemning Buhari\u2019s electoral malpractices and violence and
\nwithhold recognition of any winner of the February balloting until the
\nlegal processes for challenging Pres. Buhari\u2019s election have run their
\ncourse.<\/p>\n

*President Trump\u2019s listing of Buhari and his principal deputies as chronic
\nviolators of internationally recognized fundamental human rights under the
\nGlobal Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act and denying them visas
\nand freezing American assets.<\/p>\n

*The immediate withdrawal of all Nigerian military personnel from Rivers
\nState and similarly situated states.<\/p>\n

*The immediate arrest and\/or evacuation of all murderous herdsmen
\nterrorists from the Middle Belt and cessation of all of their acts of
\nterror, murder, burning of homes and rapes of the innocent farmers and
\ncitizens of the Middle Belt.<\/p>\n

*A United Nations Security Council international arms embargo on Nigeria
\npending the outcome of legal challenges to Buhari\u2019s election.<\/p>\n

*Release of the results of all state elections declared inconclusive by
\nBuhari.<\/p>\n

Idleness in the face of electoral injustice is not an option for WE THE
\nPEOPLE OF NIGERIA.<\/p>\n
