The Bayelsa State Director of the Department of State Security, DSS, Mr.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Bashir Dawaki, has been sent packing from the Government quarters inside
\nthe Bayelsa Government House he resides after he was caught having
\nmeetings with leaders of the All progressive Congress, APC, in the state,
\nPointblanknews.com investigation has revealed.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that on several occasion, Dawaki, would
\nhave nocturnal meetings with the leadership of the APC in his home inside
\nthe Government House.<\/p>\n

Unknown to him, State Government officials started suspecting him and
\nbegan monitoring his moves. Few weeks to the elections, he was caught and
\nswiftly evicted from the Government House.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that the State DSS Director takes
\ninformation gleaned from leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and
\nGovernor Seriaki Dickson and pass on same to leaders of the APC in the
\nstate and at the Federal level.<\/p>\n

Dawaki, according to informed sources in Bayelsa State has also been using
\nthe Chief Details to Governor Dickson to get classified information.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that most of the decisions at many of the
\nPDP\u2019s strategy meetings held with Governor Dickson were leaked to Dawaki
\nby the Chief Detail.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is not alone. He works with the Chief Detail, a DSS official posted to
\nthe Governor. Anytime he needs any information and he can\u2019t get, he goes
\nto the Chief Detail who gives him whatever information he wants,\u201d a source
\ntold Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n

Another source told Pointblanknews.com that Dawaki upon resumption in
\nBayelsa State on June 18, 2018, he got some funds from the State
\nGovernment for housing assistance but never rented an apartment. He rather
\nremained in the Guest House provided for him inside the Government House.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that the State DSS Director has been staying
\nat the Government Guest House despite receiving Housing allowance from the
\nDSS Headquarters.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe capitalized on our generosity and accommodation to scoop information
\nfrom the state and pass on to Timipre Sylva and his people,\u201d a source who
\ndoes not want to be named told Pointblanknews.com.<\/p>\n

The source continued \u201cWe already have serious election crisis on our
\nhands, and I am sure part of it is because of the activities of Dawaki.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soon after he was evicted, Dawaki was said to have rushed to Abuja to
\npress and lobby to be transferred from Bayelsa State. Dawaki who is an
\ninlaw to Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Mohammadu Buhari.
\nDawaki, according to a source is also a close ally to Bashir Abubakar, the
\nrecently sacked Chief Security Officer to President Buhari.<\/p>\n

He is said to be eyeing a transfer to either Lagos or Akwa Ibom States and
\nhave been using his contacts in the Presidency to pressure the Director
\nGeneral of the Department of State Security, DSS, to get a transfer.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com gathered that few days to the General elections, the
\nDSS State Director received three \u201cGhana Must Go\u201d bags loaded with cash
\nfew days before the elections. Pointblanknews.com could not independently
\nverify this claim and what the cash was meant for.<\/p>\n

Besides running into trouble waters with the Bayelsa State Government,
\nDawaki is not in a good working relationship with Assistant Directors and
\nother junior level officers of the DSS in the State.<\/p>\n

Sources told Pointblanknews.com that he does not carry his subordinates
\nalong and often takes decisions without consulting other senior officials
\nof the DSS in the state.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com tried to reach the State DSS Director for his comments
\nbut his telephone line was not connecting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
