The National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backs the<\/div>\n
\n
demands on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to
\ncancel the March 23 Kano state Supplementary election following the
\ndisruption of polls and bloodletting by the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC).<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, he said “the PDP said all
\nmaterial facts on the supplementary election in Kano state show that
\nrampaging APC thugs violently took over polling units, attacked and chased
\naway voters and engaged in massive thumb-printing
\nand ballot stuffing for the APC.<\/p>\n

“INEC is already aware that the Police arrested the Kano State
\nCommissioner for Special Duties, Muktar Yakasai alongside APC thugs he
\nled to disrupt election in Yelwa in Dala Local Government area of the
\nState.<\/p>\n

“Also INEC is already aware of how APC thugs attacked voters in polling
\nunits in Gama area of Kano state during which four PDP members were
\nfeared killed and many more injured before they carted away ballot boxes
\nfor stuffing for the APC.<\/p>\n

“The PDP cautions INEC to note that in this circumstance, any results
\nthey come out with from this convoluted electoral process will be a sham
\nand will surely be rejected by the people of Kano state.<\/p>\n

“It is completely reprehensible that the APC and Governor Abdullahi
\nGanduje would resort to violence and bloodletting as a means to attempt
\nto hold on to power after they have been rejected by the people.<\/p>\n

“The PDP invites Nigerians to note that our party grew democracy for 16
\nyears without watering the quest for power with the blood of the
\ninnocent as the APC has done in the 2019 general election.<\/p>\n

“The PDP therefore charges INEC to save the nation from crisis by
\ncancelling the Kano Supplementary election, as failure to do so is not
\nin the best interest of our dear nation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
