The company<br \/>\narticulated its robust growth projections for the year 2019 at its Facts<br \/>\nBehind the Figures presentation which held on Tuesday, March 26, at the<br \/>\nNigerian Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation which comes on the heels of the recently released<br \/>\nfinancial results for Transcorp Plc and Transcorp Hotels in the year 2018,<br \/>\nwas anchored by the CEO of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Oscar N. Onyema,<br \/>\nOON. He commended the Transcorp Board of Directors for taking giant<br \/>\nCorporate Governance strides by meeting up with its post\u2013listing<br \/>\nrequirements of filing its financials and for being the first to present<br \/>\nits Facts Behind the Figures to the Capital Market community in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasising the importance of an enabling environment as the engine that<br \/>\ndrives private sector growth, President\/Chief Executive Officer, Transcorp<br \/>\nPlc, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, reiterated the importance of boosting the<br \/>\ninvestment landscape and projecting Africa as an investment destination to<br \/>\nthe world.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the social impact milestones of the Group, Mr. Ozigbo stated<br \/>\n\u201cToday, we own and manage Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the best business hotel<br \/>\nin Africa, as well as Transcorp Hotels Calabar, and are intent on<br \/>\nimproving tourism in Nigeria and beyond. We own and manage Transcorp Power<br \/>\nLimited, one of the most strategic power assets in Nigeria and aim to meet<br \/>\nthe power needs of 1 out of every 4 Nigerian, and through this, help in<br \/>\npoverty eradication and improving Nigeria\u2019s competitiveness. We are<br \/>\npositioning to be that Conglomerate Nigerian\u2019s will be most proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer, Transcorp Hotels, Mrs. Owen<br \/>\nOmogiafo, spoke on the expansion focus of Transcorp Hotels Plc, touching<br \/>\non the Hotel\u2019s most recent asset acquisition and its efforts to cement the<br \/>\nbrand as the preferred hospitality choice across Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith Africa\u2019s rich cultural landscape, tourism can easily become a key<br \/>\neconomic prospect, and Transcorp is playing its part in the hospitality<br \/>\nvalue chain to ensure Nigeria, and indeed Africa, is seen as the preferred<br \/>\ndestination for tourism and hospitality,\u201d she said. \u201cAlready, we are doing<br \/>\nevidently well, considering the number of awards and nominations we have<br \/>\nreceived in last year.
