President Muhammadu Buhari has said his decision to observe Juma\u2019at<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

prayers at the Presidential Villa, and not the National Mosque in Abuja,
\nis to prevent the constraints and inconveniences presidential movements
\nmay cause to the people.<\/p>\n

The President was responding to a request by a delegation of Imams and
\nSenior Islamic Scholars from all States of the Federation and the Federal
\nCapital Territory led by Prof. Shehu Ahmad Galadanci, the Murshid,
\nNational Mosque.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2018Regarding your request for me to be attending Juma\u2019at prayers in the
\nNational Mosque, I implore you to note that I personally started observing
\nJuma\u2019at prayers in the State House in order to reduce hardships which
\npeople may pass through.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2018As you all know, Presidential movements require roadblocks and other
\nattendant restrictions which could subject worshippers and other people to
\na lot of difficulties,\u2019\u2019 the President told the Islamic scholars who were
\nat State House to congratulate him on his overwhelming victory at the
\nFebruary 23 presidential election.<\/p>\n

President Buhari welcomed the counsel of the Islamic scholars on the
\nteachings of the Prophet about the obligations of leaders towards their
\nsubjects, and vice-versa.<\/p>\n

The President thanked them for their prayers and support for his
\nadministration, assuring that the administration will leave no stone
\nunturned in addressing the security challenges facing the country.<\/p>\n

Congratulating the President on his re-election, Prof Galadanci noted that
\nthe victory demonstrates the desire of the majority of Nigerians to ensure
\nthe continuity of the administration to the Next Level.<\/p>\n

He prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the President the ability to
\ncontinue with the \u2018\u2018excellent work\u2019\u2019 he is doing for the country.<\/p>\n

Highlighting noteworthy achievements of the Buhari administration in the
\narea of security, agriculture and the fight against corruption, the leader
\nof the group urged the President to remain focused while praying Allah to
\ncontinue to give him the power to \u2018\u2018annihilate and wipe off\u2019\u2019 pockets of
\nterrorists in the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
