\u2026Says Declared Results Show Wike Is Clear Winner<\/p>\n
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hails the Federal High Court, for
\nsaving our democratic process by throwing out the suit by
\nanti-democratic forces working for the All Progressives Congress (APC),
\nin their desperate plot to scuttle the collation of results of the March
\n9, 2019 Rivers State Governorship election.<\/p>\n
Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesman of the party said in a statement “The PDP
\ndescribes the ruling as well as the on-going collation as the triumph of
\nthe will of the people of Rivers State, who freely gave their mandate to
\nthe PDP and its candidate, Governor Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n
“The party notes that the sweeping victory being recorded by Govenor
\nWike, even in areas hitherto considered as opposition fortresses,
\nclearly exposes the reason behind APC’s desperation to scuttle the
\ncollation process.<\/p>\n
“More over, the court ruling rekindles the hope by Nigerians on the
\ncapacity of the judiciary to uphold the will of the people,
\nparticularly, in the overall quest by Nigerians to reclaim the
\nPresidential mandate, which they freely gave to the PDP Candidate, Atiku
\nAbubakar, at the February 23, 2019 Presidential polls.<\/p>\n
“The PDP notes that it has a water-tight case against the APC and
\nPresident Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Election Petition
\ntribunal, for which majority of Nigerians, across the board, are in high
\nspirit that the stolen mandate would be recovered at the Tribunal.<\/p>\n
“The PDP therefore charges INEC to ensure that nothing encumbers the
\nconclusion of the collation process and announcement of Governor Wike as
\nthe rightful winner of the Rivers governorship election.<\/p>\n
“The party also directs its members and supporters in Rivers state to
\ncontinue to be at alert to forestall any attempt by anti-democratic
\nforces, working for the APC, to disrupt the exercise.”<\/p>\n
