\nA political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the
\nAll Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has challenged
\nPresident Muhammadu Buhari to account for the $1 billion he illegally
\nwithdrew from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) to purportedly fight
\ninsecurity in view of the increasing spate of killings, banditry and
\nkidnapping across the country.<\/p>\n

Frank, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday in reaction to the increasing
\nincidence of kidnapping, banditry, killings and other forms of crimes
\nacross the country, insisted that the mindless looting of public funds
\nthat has so far characterised the current administration is directly
\nresponsible for persistent insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n

He lamented that the President has woefully failed to protect Nigerians
\nand demanded that the current “tired and incompetent heads of security
\nagencies and Service Chiefs be sacked.”<\/p>\n

The Bayelsa-born political activist said he believes that “No serious
\ngovernment will keep incompetent Service Chiefs if the President himself
\nis not personally benefiting from their cluelessness.”<\/p>\n

He added that if Buhari\u2019s government is to be judged by the level of
\ninsecurity in the country, failure would be an under statement in
\ndescribing the current administration.<\/p>\n

According to Frank, no government has approved such humongous amount of
\nfund to tackle insecurity in the history of Nigeria without noticeable
\nimprovement in the security of the country as is presently the case.<\/p>\n

Frank said: \u201cWe are talking of $1billion (or N360billion) unilaterally
\nwithdrawn in a single tranche from the ECA by\u00a0 the current administration
\nwithout any positive effect on the security of country. Rather insecurity
\ncontinues to bedevil the country without let. Haba!<\/p>\n

“The only achievement we have seen through the current military
\nadministration is propaganda and fake news to defend their looting.<\/p>\n

“Dear Gen. Buhari, please tell the world what you did with $1billion (N360
\nbillion) taken from the Excess Crude Account supposedly to fight
\ninsecurity!<\/p>\n

“The number of lives lost and that of people in displaced on a daily basis
\nacross the country is your responsibility which you must account for, but
\nit is obvious that you only care about your ambition.<\/p>\n

The increasing level of insecurity in the country has pushed the citizens
\nto the wall and this will no doubt set this country on fire if you don’t
\ndo the needful and urgently too.<\/p>\n

“Nigerians should bear in mind that the more money the President approves
\nto fight insecurity, the more the country becomes insecure.”<\/p>\n

While responding to a statement credited to the President where he said
\n‘he is one of the unhappiest leaders in the world’ Frank said that if the
\nPresident is not happy he would have sacked “the incompetent and tired
\nService Chiefs and his Minister of Defence -who cannot secure even his
\nfamily in Zamfara, his home state.”<\/p>\n

He, however, called on the international community to urgently come to the
\naid of Nigerians security-wise to prevent the growing humanitarian
\nsituation in the country from getting out of hand under Buhari, as \u201cthe
\npresent administration has lost the capacity and will to protect the
\npeople.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
