He takes over from Mr. Peter Amangbo.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The appointment is with effect from June 1, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Onyeagwu, according to a letter to the regulatory authorities dated April 8, 2019, replaces Mr. Peter Amangbo, whose tenure expires on May 31, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The letter signed by the Company Secretary\/General Counsel, Michael Osilama, added: \u201cThe appointment is consistent with the bank\u2019s tradition and succession strategy of grooming leaders from within.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his appointment, Onyeagwu was the Deputy Managing Director of the bank since October 28, 2016 and has close to 30 years cognate banking experience of which 17 years has been with Zenith Bank.<\/p>\n<p>Onyeagwu, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, is an alumnus of the prestigious Oxford University, England, where he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy and a certificate in Macroeconomics.
