\nThe National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party
\n(PDP) says no amount of fabrications, attempt at set-up as well as
\nveiled and open threats by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led
\nFederal Government can stop the people\u2019s candidate, Atiku Abubakar from
\nreclaiming his mandate at the tribunal.<\/p>\n

A statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan said “The PDP also rejects in its
\nentirety, the declaration by the Buhari Presidency that Atiku Abubakar is
\n\u201clucky to be walking free\u201d, noting that such is inciting and brings to the
\nfore the unwholesome intention of the APC-led administration against Atiku
\nAbubakar for seeking to retrieve his stolen mandate at the court.<\/p>\n

“The party notes that the series of orchestrations against Atiku Abubakar
\nand the PDP by agents of the Federal Government, officials of the
\nPresidency and the Buhari Media Organization (BMO) expose a
\nwell-coordinated plot, which includes a resort to unfounded claims of
\nlinks with a foreign lobby group, to attempt to frame Atiku Abubakar,
\ncause tension and ultimately derail the recovery of the stolen mandate
\nat the Presidential election tribunal.<\/p>\n

“Such orchestration are also targeted at instilling fear, cause
\napprehension in the citizenry and create opening to further suppress
\ngenuine public opinion and the course of justice in the quest by Atiku
\nAbubakar and the PDP to restore the will of the people.<\/p>\n

“Part of the motive is to use lies, fabrications, threats and sponsoring
\nof Atiku campaign posters to portray Atiku Abubakar and the PDP as being
\ndesperate and ready to subvert the rules in the pursuit of our mandate;
\nand by so doing discredit our candidate in the eyes of the judiciary and
\nthe public in general.<\/p>\n

“This explains why agents of the APC-led government fabricated and pushed
\ninto the public space, bogus and laughable claims that Atiku Abubakar
\npaid $30,000 to a US lobby group to assist in the quest to reclaim our
\nmandate only for the Federal Government and the Presidency to turn
\naround to feast on the fabrications with threats against Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n

“The PDP calls on Nigerians to take copious note of threats by the
\nPresidency through the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari
\non Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, to jail Atiku Abubakar based on
\ntrumped up allegations, while describing him as \u201cone who is lucky to be
\nwalking free\u201d.<\/p>\n

“Nigerians now know who to hold responsible should any harm come to Atiku
\nAbubakar, his family or any member of the PDP Presidential Campaign
\nOrganization (PPCO) in the course of the pursuit of the mandate at the
\ntribunal.<\/p>\n

“Moreover, it is instructive to state that the PDP and Atiku Abubakar do
\nnot need any foreign lobby group to prove our case before the tribunal
\nas Nigerians themselves have been at the forefront of this pursuit,
\nespecially with our overwhelming evidence before the court.<\/p>\n

“The PDP therefore cautions the APC-led Federal Government to allow the
\ntribunal to judiciously carry out its responsibilities without let or
\nhindrance as well as stop their unrelenting plots to overheat the system
\nand derail the course of justice as such will all come to naught.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
