Rivers State Governor,\u00a0 Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has inaugurated a multi-party<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Committee on Thanksgiving,\u00a0 Four-Year Anniversary and Inauguration of
\nThe Governor for Second Term “.<\/p>\n

Inaugurating the committee at the Government House,\u00a0 Port Harcourt on
\nThursday,\u00a0 Governor Wike said that he involved different political
\nparties and professional groups in the committee for the development of
\nthe state.<\/p>\n

He said: “We took cognizance of various groups in constituting this
\ncommittee. We are no longer talking party. We are talking about the
\ndevelopment of Rivers State.<\/p>\n

“We reached out to other political parties. We have Governorship
\nCandidates and party chairmen in this committee “.<\/p>\n

He said that the multi-party committee is a concrete step towards the
\ninclusive government that he pledged after his victory\u00a0 at the polls.<\/p>\n

“Those who doubt our sincerity that we want everyone to be involved in
\ngovernance,\u00a0 have seen our commitment. We are not playing politics.\u00a0 We
\nhave tried to reach out to everyone “, he said.<\/p>\n

The Governor said that the committee members are appointed\u00a0 to serve the
\nstate and not for any pecuniary reasons.<\/p>\n

He urged them to serve to the best of their abilities,\u00a0 as their
\nperformance\u00a0 will determine\u00a0 their future placement in Government.<\/p>\n

In his response,\u00a0 Chairman of the Committee and Former Deputy Speaker of
\nthe House of Representatives,\u00a0 Rt Hon Austin Opara said that the
\nperformance\u00a0 of the Rivers State Governor is worthy of celebration.<\/p>\n

He said that the Rivers State Governor was re-elected by the good people
\nof Rivers State after a long walk to victory.<\/p>\n

The Former Federal Lawmaker said that Nigerians and Rivers people will
\nbe proud of the high-profile\u00a0 celebrations\u00a0 that the committee\u00a0 will
\norganise to mark the beginning of Nigeria’s best performing Governor.<\/p>\n

He commended\u00a0 Governor Wike for living up to his pledge\u00a0 by setting up a
\ncommittee\u00a0 that transcends religion, politics and ethnicity.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
