The Coalition of United Political Parties has welcomed the indictment of<\/div>\n
\n
the Nigerian security agencies by 75 political parties at the National
\nRoundtable of Political Parties to review the 2019 General election.<\/p>\n

A statement signed by spokesman of CUPP, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere said
\n“This indictment by over 80% of the total registered political parties
\nin Nigeria is a clear proof that that the ruling APC connived with
\nsecurity agencies to suppress the will of the people. Security agencies
\nwhile allowing Nigeria to wallow deeper in the dangers of insecurity
\ntransformed into the armed wing of the APC snatching ballot boxes,
\nshooting and killing Nigerians, allowing political thugs to have a field
\nday while ensuring that the voice of the Nigerian people is not heard
\nloud and clear.<\/p>\n

“The CUPP further accepts the recommendation of the Roundtable for
\nsingle day elections and establishment of the Electoral Offences
\nTribunal. Conducting all elections in a single day with improve
\nelectoral security, reduce vote buying, minimize ballot box snatching,
\nreduce cost on conduct of elections and above all ensure that the votes
\nof Nigerians are counted and indeed counts. The Electoral offences
\nTribunal will ensure that persons who have been indicted for electoral
\noffences are quickly brought to justice. Vote buying will be eliminated
\nfrom our nation\u2019s electoral process once this Tribunal is established.<\/p>\n

“The CUPP is very hopeful that the mandate of the CUPP Consensus
\ncandidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will be retrieved at the Tribunal and
\nthat with the pleadings so far exchanged, the APC and President
\nMuhammadu Buhari are clearly at a loss as to how to respond to the
\nPetition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.<\/p>\n

“Justice can only be delayed, but it cannot be denied. Nigerians are
\nurged as always to remain peaceful but vigilant in the coming days as
\nthe journey to the retrieval of the mandate is a sure one.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
