Rivers State Government will henceforth sanction any company that awards
\nsurveillance jobs to cultists.<\/p>\n

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike made this known during a
\nCourtesy Visit by the Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Mr Jerome
\nPasquier at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike said\u00a0 that before such surveillance jobs are awarded, the
\ncompanies\u00a0 should inform the State Government for proper scrutiny of the
\nbeneficiaries.<\/p>\n

“Companies encourage cultists by giving them surveillance jobs. We must
\nknow those doing these surveillance\u00a0 jobs.<\/p>\n

“When you empower them, they have more money to acquire arms. Any
\ncompany\u00a0 that gives surveillance jobs to cultists will be sanctioned”.<\/p>\n

He appealed to the French\u00a0 Ambassador\u00a0 to prevail on the authorities
\nnot to politicise the security of the country.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike called on the French Embassy\u00a0 to take steps to ensure
\nthat Air France returns to Port Harcourt.\u00a0 He said the state government
\nis prepared to support the airline through relevant policies.<\/p>\n

He urged\u00a0 the management of Air France to reconsider\u00a0 their action and
\nreturn\u00a0 to Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n

The Governor said that his Administration will continue\u00a0 to work towards
\nenhancing\u00a0 a fruitful relationship\u00a0 with the French Government.<\/p>\n

Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquier noted that there is
\na major French Presence in Rivers State\u00a0 through the operations of Total
\nand other professionals.\u00a0 He said that the embassy\u00a0 will continue to
\nwork towards greater French Presence in the State.<\/p>\n

He said that the Embassy\u00a0 is working to persuade more French investors
\nto come to Nigeria, especially\u00a0 Rivers State.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
