NewMedia Group(PDP-NNMG) has condemned in strong terms, the mindless
\nretrenchment of about 2000 workers employed into Teaching and Civil
\nServices of the State during the immediate past Peter Ayodele Fayose
\nadministration.<\/p>\n

The group which described Fayemi’s action as one filled with vile, hate,
\nwickedness and vendetta asked the governor to be reminded about the
\nephemeral nature of power and authority stressing that it is only a
\nmatter of time before the governor’s heinous actions are brought under
\nreview since nothing lasts forever.<\/p>\n

The group said Ekiti State has never been so divided since its creation,
\nstressing that the seed of discord being sowed among indigenes of the
\nsingular most homogeneous state in Nigeria by the governor be stopped
\nforthwith.<\/p>\n

It would be recalled that the Ayo Fayose administration recruited about
\n2000 junior and senior workers to fill vacancies in the state government
\nworkforce in an exercise advertised long before the July 21st
\ngovernorship election. Governor Fayemi however in a statement signed
\nyesterday by his chief press secretary, Laolu Oyebode, declared the
\nexercise null and void claiming that the recruitment was done to throw
\nhis government off balance.<\/p>\n

In a statement released and made available to newsmen on Thursday, Ekiti
\nState Coordinator of the PDP-NNMG, Bola Agboola said the retrenchment is
\none devilish act too many.<\/p>\n

He said, “Governor Fayemi has for the umpteenth time proved his
\nviciousness by pronouncing 2000 breadwinners hapless and helpless!<\/p>\n

“Fayemi is known for attempting to undermine and dwarf his predecessors’
\nachievements, you would recall this was the same way he scrapped
\nUniversity of Science and Technology, Ifaki which was the hallmark of
\nEngr. Segun Oni’s administration.<\/p>\n

“Fayemi would have demolished Fayose’s 1.3km flyover if he had had his
\nway. Today, the Oja Oba that was about 95% completed before Fayose left
\noffice in 2018 has been abandoned.\u00a0 In 2010, Fayemi sent packing
\nduly elected local government executive members and counselors across
\nthe 16 LGA of the state, he repeated same in 2018 after rigging his way
\nto the government house a second time.<\/p>\n

“It is a known fact that Fayemi was behind the case instituted against
\nEkiti State government under former governor Ayo Fayose by land owners
\nin communities where an airport would have been constructed for the
\nstate, Fayemi through his aides castigated the construction of the
\nproposed airport but today he’s setting machinery in motion to build
\none, that’s Fayemi’s kind of person.<\/p>\n

“One would have thought that an\u00a0 electoral robber who does not enjoy the
\nsupport of majority of the citizenry would thread softly with caution,
\nsame is not the case for our kinsman whose innate tendency
\nfor crass ungodliness, profanity and profligacy will not allow not to
\nlead a chorus where he is not wanted”.<\/p>\n

Agboola further stated that “there is no gainsaying\u00a0 Dr. Kayode Fayemi
\nrepresents the very worst of Ekiti people. He is full of hatred for the
\nEkiti people, very vindictive, callous and deadly. Or what offense
\ndid those 2000 workers he sacked yesterday commit? Must he wait till
\nthey have spent 8 months wasting their money and precious time working
\nwithout salary for the government\u00a0 before\u00a0 telling them to stop?<\/p>\n

“Why didn’t he sack them before the presidential and National Assembly
\nelections? Why didn’t he sack them before the state assembly election?
\nBecause he knew the hue and cry won’t allow his rigging the elections
\nsail through without challenge? Fayemi is heartless!”<\/p>\n

Ekiti State chapter of the PDP-NNMG hereby call on the 2000 workers not
\nto despair but to be strong and of good courage as the Pharaoh they see
\ntoday, they will see no more. We urge you to charge this rogue
\ngovernment of the day to court, the lawyers know what to do. Your sack
\nis temporary, keep your letters of appointment in a very safe place, a
\nresponsible government is coming and your case shall be revisited, I
\nassure you your employment will be re-validated as this is never the end
\nof your world, Agboola affirmed.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
