{"id":66829,"date":"2019-05-22T18:22:29","date_gmt":"2019-05-22T17:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=66829"},"modified":"2019-05-22T18:22:29","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T17:22:29","slug":"justice-zainab-bulkachuwa-steps-down-from-presidential-election-petition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/exclusive\/justice-zainab-bulkachuwa-steps-down-from-presidential-election-petition\/","title":{"rendered":"Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa steps down from Presidential Election Petition"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"m-7968838643287115846\" class=\"mail-message expanded\">\n<div class=\"mail-message-header spacer\">Despite\u00a0 a unanimous ruling of the 5-member panel dismissing the application of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Justice Bulkachuwa has stepped down from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.<\/div>\n<div class=\"mail-message-content collapsible zoom-normal mail-show-images \">\n<div class=\"clear\">\nPDP had asked the Appeal Court President to step aside, on grounds that her relationship with prominent APC chieftains.<\/p>\n<p>But the five member panel ruled that there is not enough evidence for her to step down as the individuals mentioned are not parties before the tribunal neither are they witnesses listed by the petitioner to be called in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Court held that no allegation has been made in the petition against the relatives of the President Court of Appeal.
