The Governor of Bayelsa State, the Honorable Henry Seriake Dickson, has<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

emerged Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Governors Forum<\/p>\n

The former Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Ibrahim
\nDankwambo of Gombe State announced Governor Dickson\u2019s emergence after a
\nmeeting at the Gombe State Governors Lodge, Abuja on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The meeting which was attended by all the PDP governors also had in
\nattendance, the President of Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, the Speaker of
\nthe House of Representatives , Yakubu Dogara, the Chairman of the PDP,
\nPrince Uche Secondus.<\/p>\n

Shortly after presenting the new Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum to
\nJournalists, Dankwambo said that the governors elected under the
\nplatform expressed concern over the state of insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n

According to him, the governors were worried by the adverse effects\u00a0 of
\nthe growing insecurity on food production in the country.<\/p>\n

He added further that the governors decried the situation where farmers
\nare scared of going to the farms in fear of being killed or kidnapped.<\/p>\n

The Governors called on President Muhammad Buhari to address the serious
\nchallenge by declaring a state of emergency on security.<\/p>\n

Until his emergence as the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum,
\nGovernors was the Chairman of the PDP\u2019s Standing Committee on
\nReconciliation.<\/p>\n

Governor Dickson who is the Chairman of the South South Governors Forum
\nis also co-Chairman Southern Governors Forum.<\/p>\n

Governor Dickson made serious efforts to wrest the party from
\ndisintegration during the most challenging period of its existence after
\nits defeat in the 2015 elections.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
