PDP Vice Presidential Candidate and Former Anambra State Governor,\u00a0 Mr
\nPeter Obi, has declared that the Minister of Transportation,\u00a0 Chibuike
\nRotimi Amaechi lacks the competence to talk about which geo-political
\nzone will produce the President in 2023 because he lacks political
\nrelevance in Rivers State.<\/p>\n
Addressing journalists after the lecture\/book presentation\u00a0 in honour of
\nRivers State Governor,\u00a0 Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in Port Harcourt on Monday,
\nPeter Obi wondered why Amaechi who is not from South East would want to
\nspeak for the zone.<\/p>\n
Flanked by Senator Uche Ekwunife and Senator-Elect,\u00a0 Sandy Onoh,\u00a0 Obi
\nsaid: “Amaechi is not from the South East, so he cannot\u00a0 speak for us.<\/p>\n
“He is not in any position\u00a0 to make such statements because even\u00a0 him
\nthat is in APC, he did not contribute anything to the success of that
\nelection.<\/p>\n
“He did not even achieve\u00a0 anything\u00a0 in his own state.\u00a0 Those of us from
\nthe South East who are from the PDP contributed\u00a0 to the success of our
\nparty”.<\/p>\n
The Former\u00a0 Anambra State Governor added: “For example,\u00a0 PDP in my state
\ngot 95percent. They (APC) didn’t\u00a0 even get 25percent in Rivers State.
\nSo he is not competent to speak on the Presidency in 2023”.<\/p>\n
On the second\u00a0 term inauguration of Governor Wike,\u00a0 he said that the
\nRivers State Governor has performed exceptionally well,\u00a0 as evidenced by
\nhis numerous projects.<\/p>\n
He said: “What is happening\u00a0 in Rivers State is that every area has seen
\nvery visible improvement.\u00a0 He has done very well.<\/p>\n
“The lecture and book presentation elucidated the performance\u00a0 of the
\nRivers State Governor “.<\/p>\n
On the growing insecurity in the country,\u00a0 Obi said the only way to
\nachieve peace is for the Buhari Administration to unite the people and
\ntackle insecurity\u00a0 headlong.<\/p>\n
“Everybody has to be involved. The President has to work with the
\ngovernors and the Governors should work with the local government
\ncouncils. We are Nigerians.\u00a0 We have no other country,\u00a0 so everyone must
\nbe involved “, he said.<\/p>\n
The PDP Vice Presidential Candidate said that the major way to end
\ninsecurity\u00a0 is to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths.<\/p>\n
He said: “As Long as the youths remain unemployed,\u00a0 we have a crisis “.<\/p>\n
The Former\u00a0 Anambra State Governor said that INEC should be made to be
\nindependent,\u00a0 so that they can work without favouring any group.<\/p>\n
