President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, obtained his assets declaration
\nform from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), saying his style may have
\nearned him more enemies who might want to go after him after 2023.<\/p>\n
Buhari urged\u00a0 the CCB to keep his form safe because people who have
\ntested the bitter pill of his anti-corruption war will want to get back
\nat him by 2023 after his second term in office ends.<\/p>\n
The President,\u00a0 Vice-President Osinbajo, Governors and other public
\nofficers whose tenure ends on May 29 are expected to submit their
\nend-of-tenure asset declaration forms on May 28, 2019, according to the
\nLaws.<\/p>\n
Buhari said \u201cI am very pleased that you are here, I assure you I will
\nquickly fill this form and dispatched it back to you so that at the end
\nof 2023, I believe there are a lot of people that will like to get back
\nat me. So please, make sure you keep it safely because there are people
\nwho believed they shouldn\u2019t be questioned which they are being
\nquestioned and some of them are already in trouble. I expect them to
\nfight back and this is one of the instruments. So I hope you will keep
\nit when I finished. Thank you very much indeed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Commending the CCB\u00a0 for accepting to serve said: \u201cI am very pleased, I
\nthink I am meeting you for the first time since your appointment. I have
\nnever met you before. I thank you for accepting to be in this very
\nimportant institution and I thank you very much for serving me my forms
\nwhich I must fill constitutionally before my second term of office.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we cannot over emphasize the importance of your office because
\nNigerians are notorious for cutting short and not giving account of
\ntheir public responsibilities and we are trying to impress it on our
\nnation and the world that this administration is based on
\naccountability.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is only institutions like yours that will bail us out from the
\nefforts that we have been making to make sure that people in public
\noffices do not abuse that public office and that those who come in and
\nthose that are leaving in certain positions make sure that they hold the
\nintegrity of the office and of the country generally in high esteem.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the CCB, Muhammad Isah, accompanied by Murtala Kankia,
\nDr. Emmanuel Attah and other board members made the presentation at the
