The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress
\n(APC) has approved Indirect Primaries to elect the Party\u2019s candidate for
\nthe forthcoming Kogi Governorship election.<\/p>\n

The party also congratulate congratulated the Secretary to the
\nGovernment of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and the Chief of Staff to
\nthe President, Abba Kyari for their reappointment.<\/p>\n

The approval was given after a meeting of the NWC on Friday evening
\nwhere a formal request from the Kogi State executive and stakeholders in
\npreference for the Indirect Primary was considered and deliberated on.<\/p>\n

The APC Constitution which was reemphasized by a decision of National
\nExecutive Committee (NEC) provides for three modes of primary election
\nto elect Party candidates \u2013 Indirect, Direct Primaries and consensus \u2013
\ndepending on the peculiarities of the state and preferences of the
\nstakeholders in respective elections.<\/p>\n

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu said
\nin a statement that the Party\u2019s timetable for the sales of forms and
\nconduct of primaries will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n

The party also commended President Muhammadu Buhari foe his
\nreappointment of Mallam Abba Kyari and Mr. Boss Mustapha as his Chief of
\nStaff and Secretary to the Government of the Federation respectively.<\/p>\n

The statement said these reappointments formally reiterate the
\ndetermination of President Buhari to step up on the Next Level agenda.
\nThe ruling party noted with satisfaction the reaffirmation of the
\nPresident\u2019s confidence in the duo.<\/p>\n

It said further that \u201chaving worked with Mallam Kyari and Mr. Mustapha
\nin the last few years, we at the National Working Committee (NWC) of the
\nparty strongly believe that the President has made a well-informed
\ndecision. We are fully satisfied with their contributions so far and
\nacknowledge that the duo fully understand the vision and direction of
\nthe APC-led administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur party is confident that the reappointed Chief of Staff and the SGF
\nwould justify the implicit confidence reposed in them by President
\nBuhari and discharge their responsibilities for the overall good of
\nNigerians and our great country. We extend our congratulations to both
\nMallam Kyari and Mr. Mustapha.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
