{"id":6759,"date":"2012-11-28T18:20:55","date_gmt":"2012-11-28T17:20:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=6759"},"modified":"2012-11-28T18:20:55","modified_gmt":"2012-11-28T17:20:55","slug":"son-uncovers-cement-adulterating-factory-in-enugu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/son-uncovers-cement-adulterating-factory-in-enugu\/","title":{"rendered":"SON uncovers cement adulterating factory in Enugu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) says it has uncovered a team that adulterates cement in Enugu State.<br \/>\nMr Bede Obayi, the Head of Compliance and Inspection Unit in SON, announced this to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos.<br \/>\nObayi said that the culprits were specialists in using quart clay to mix cement, re-bag and flood the market with their products.<br \/>\nHe said that SON acted on intelligence report to arrest three persons.<br \/>\nObayi alleged that the team was carrying out the nefarious activity in a remote area in Abakpa in Enugu East Local Government area.<br \/>\nHe expressed the commitment of SON to flush out unscrupulous persons engaged in the illegal business.<br \/>\n&#8220;We will smoke them out and make them to face the law.<br \/>\n&#8220;The adulteration of cement can lead to building and construction failures, but we will do our best to reduce the incidence of building collapse,\u2019\u2019 he said.<br \/>\nAccording to him, SON will not tolerate sales of sub-standard cement.<br \/>\nHe said that cement depots at Abakpa-Nike\u00a0 area had various brands of cement like Dangote, Elephant, BUA, Burham and Ibeto cements, among others.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Related Posts generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) says it has uncovered a team that adulterates cement in Enugu State.
