The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has warned against calls for war
\nor anarchy over recent string of attacks in the southwest region, saying
\n“we don’t want war.”<\/p>\n
After a meeting with President Mohammadu Buhari at the Presidential
\nVilla, the Oni was reacting to drum beats of war especially after the
\ndeath of Mrs Funke Olakunri, the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben
\nFasoranti, who was killed by an armed gang suspected to be herdsmen on
\nKajola-Ore road, Ondo State.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody is beating the drum of war, we don\u2019t want war, who can stand
\nwar, we want something better for our youths.\u00a0 \u201cWe should better use
\nthem for something good other than shouting war and anarchy. We don\u2019t
\nwant that.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow to improve security. I came to speak on behalf of other traditional
\nrulers. The issue at hand in the South West is real. The issue of
\ninsecurity, we that live in the remote and rural areas of the south
\nwestern part of the country, most of the bushes are occupied by strange
\npeople and we decided to work with the government to fish them out.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe told the President that and he is on the same page with us.
\nPoliticians should be careful not to throw things out of proportion.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe should make sure things are right and the President has given good
\ndirectives to security chiefs including the IG to visit\u00a0 all traditional
\ninstitutions in the south west.\u201d he said\u00a0 The Ooni stressed that
\neverything must be done to put all security agencies to good use and
\nwork with the locals to separate the bad eggs.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cWe shouldn\u2019t keep over hyping war and we still want
