In a bid to ensure a speedy, thorough, fair and impartial investigation
\ninto the case of rape reported by Mrs Busola Dakolo against Pastor
\nBiodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), the
\nInspector\u2013General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM,mni, has ordered the
\nDeputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Force Criminal
\nInvestigation Department (FCID), DIG Michael Ogbizi, fdc to immediately
\ntake-over the on-going investigations.<\/p>\n
According to a statement signed by Force Spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, “The
\nDIG is also expected to take over the investigation of the complaint
\nmade by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo against the Dakolos in addition to
\nproviding a personal supervision to all facets of the investigation to
\nensure justice and fair-hearing to all the parties, with each case being
\ntreated purely on its merit.<\/p>\n
“In the same vein, the IGP has directed that the procedure which the
\nPolice operatives adopted in serving Invitation Letters on Timi and
\nBusola Dakolo on Saturday, 20th July, 2019, be subjected to rigorous and
\ndiscreet scrutiny to ascertain its conformity with Police Standard
\nOperating Procedure and International Best Practices.<\/p>\n
“While enjoining the general public and the parties involved in the
\ncases to remain calm and patient, the IGP assures of unalloyed Police
\nprofessionalism in the matter.”<\/p>\n
