Suffering for a lack of tangible achievement to show and losing a
\npolitical battle he unwisely initiated, Governor Obaseki is desperately
\non a quest to claim credit for things he is not responsible for, with
\nthe latest being the nomination of the astute professional, Prince Clem
\nAgba as a Federal Minister.<\/p>\n
The Prince, who is currently Manager Transport and Travel for Chevron
\nNigeria Ltd was nominated by the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade
\nAdams Oshiomhole as Federal cabinet member.<\/p>\n
However, through Obaseki\u2019s propagandists who are feeding fat on the
\nstate\u2019s treasury to spread lies, the Governor is attempting to credit
\nhimself for the nomination because of the said love he has for Mrs.
\nCatherine Orobosa whom they are erroneously calling the Governor\u2019s
\ncousin.<\/p>\n
To begin with, Princess Catherine Orobosa Agba is actually Governor
\nGodwin Obaseki\u2019s biological sister, not his cousin. Besides, Godwin is
\nmore or less Prince Clem Agba\u2019s father inlaw being the 2nd Son of his
\nfather inlaw now late.<\/p>\n
While the familial ties indeed exist, it is already a known fact that
\nthe arrogance and completely dismissive behavior of Obaseki which
\nfamously led him to describe his relatives as beggars to his late Uncle,
\nJustice Otutu Obaseki, has ruined his relationship with his relatives
\nwho no longer want anything to do with him.<\/p>\n
If the said love Godwin Obaseki has for his biological sister is true,
\nthen he must answer why he shunned the traditional and White wedding of
\nher first son and instead opted to carry out foundation stone of an
\norphanage owned\u00a0 by a PDP member on the same day at a PDP function in
\nJattu.<\/p>\n
Whilst his absence on the said day was neither missed nor noticed due to
\nthe presence of far more accomplished and important guests such as
\nComrade Adams Oshiomhole, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, former GMD
\nof NNPC Gaius Obaseki, former Deputy Governors of Edo state Mike
\nOghiadomhe and Pius Odubu, several Chevron executives and the CEO Seplat
\npetroleum; the fact that Obaseki chose to ignore the event entirely
\nshows that there is no love lost between both parties.<\/p>\n
It is, therefore, bemusing that the Governor would charge his
\npropagandists, many of whom are incapable of basic comprehension or
\nreasoning, to spread the lies that he facilitated the nomination of her
\nhusband.<\/p>\n
It is no news that Godwin Obaseki forwarded the name of only Domingo
\nObende to the President and his complete lack of influence and
\nincompetence meant that his suggestion was overlooked and tossed into
\nthe trash can.<\/p>\n
It is also public knowledge that Obaseki himself, in a conference he
\norganized to advertise his incompetence and lack of influence, admitted
\nthat he has not been able to nominate anyone for a Federal appointment.<\/p>\n
Understandably, failures like Obaseki who are very well on their way to
\npolitical oblivion may search for consolatory prizes to prop up the
\nmorale of their followers, but this should not be premised on falsehood
\nor trying to take glory for actions they are neither responsible for or
\nknow nothing about.<\/p>\n
