The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has written the West Africa<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\n
Examination Council (WAEC) accusing it’s Nigerian office of tendering
\nfalse evidence in support of the Kwara State governor, Abdulrahman
\nAbdulrazaq, at the election petition Tribunal.<\/p>\n

The PDP said the Nigerian WAEC office aided Abdulrazaq, who as candidate
\nof the All Progressives Congress (APC) alleged presented a false
\ncertificate at Independent Natronal Electoral Commission (INEC) for the
\n2019 election.<\/p>\n

PDP made the claims in the letter dated July 15, 2019 which was signed
\nby the national legal adviser of the PDP, Emmanuel Enoidem and titled,
\nKwara State Governorship Election Tribunal: PDP v Abdulrahman
\nAbdulrazaq; false and fraudulent evidence tendered by WAEC.<\/p>\n

The letter was addressed to the registrar to Council of WAEC, Dr Iyi
\nUwadiae, based in Ghana was also copied to President of Ghana, Nana
\nAkufo-Addo; president of The Gambia, Adama Barrow; President of Sierra
\nLeone, Julius Maada Bio; and President of Liberia, George Weah.<\/p>\n

The PDP claimed that the examination council after playing hide and seek
\nover a subpoena by the Tribunal, sent conflict representatives to appear
\nfor in court over the matter.<\/p>\n

The party further claimed that Abdulrazaq’s sister Khalrat AbduiRasaq
\nGwadabe has been frequenting the Lagos National Office of WAEC since the
\nTribunal case began.<\/p>\n

While noting dismay over the situation, PDP threatened legal if WAEC
\nfails to take action over the matter.<\/p>\n

According to the letter \u201cwe are constrained to let you know that under
\nyour tenure, the name of WAEC has been brought into disrepute. This sort
\nof fraud is being perpetrated under your watch. It is being said in some
\nquarters that a fraud of this complexity, magnitude and scale cannot be
\nexecuted without the knowledge of the man at the very top.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are aware that Mr Abdulrazaq’s sister Khalrat AbduiRasaq Gwadabe has
\nbeen frequenting the Lagos National Office of WAEC ever since the
\nTtibunal case began. She is said to be a dose friend of the Acting Head
\nof the Nigeria National Office, one Mrs Durojaiye. The visitors records
\nat WAEC will buttress this fact as it has numerous entries of her visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact his sister, Mrs Gwadabe and the Acting Head of Nigeria National
\nOffice, Mrs Durojaiye and other top official of WAEC went to have a
\nmeeting in Ghana. This coinaded with WAEC\u2019s Regional Meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey arrived back together on a chartered night which landed at 5:40pm
\non 10 July at the Private Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
\nUpon landing, Mrs Gwadabe and Mrs Durojaiye went to continue the meeting
\nin the WAEC ofhce, Yaba, Lagos.<\/p>\n

\u201cFurther, we are aware that there was recently a crude attempt at your
\nNational Office in Nigeria to alter 3 Records Department Register to
\ninclude details of this disputed Certificate. This attempt was
\ndiscovered because the entry was irregular and crude.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the final analysis, this episode shows that there is a great deal of
\nrot within WAEC. This has never been the case under the tenure of
\nprevious Registrars to Council of WAEC since its establishment in 1952.<\/p>\n

\u201cWAEC\u2019s reputation has been seriously dented by this episode. There is a
\ngrave danger that a grossly devalued reputation due to fraudulent
\ninterference with its results, international bodies and employers might
\nno longer accept WAEC results as credible. We do not want to contemplate
\nother damage this will do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe therefore ask you to take urgent action to restore the reputation of
\nWAEC by\u00a0 Conducting a thorough investigation into the sordid affair and
\ntake decisive action against those found culpable.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemedy the false evidence rendered by your staff by writing to the
\nTribunal directly.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake notice that if WAEC fails to take the above action within 7 days
\nfrom the date of this letter, we will commence legal proceedings to
\nunravel this unwholesome fraud and recover punitive damages,\u201d the letter
\nread.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
