Dakuku: A Shameless Stooge Struggse His OGABy Simeon Nwakaudu<\/p>\n

I got a call on Monday, August 5, 2019 drawing my attention\u00a0 to the
\n“notice me” interview\u00a0 that the embattled Director General of\u00a0 failed
\nNIMASA, Mr Dakuku Peterside granted to the Rivers State Correspondent of
\nThe Nation, Otunba Bisi Olaniyi.\u00a0 Trust the duo, they took the
\nopportunity to rant and spew gibberish.<\/p>\n

Titled: “Peterside: Wike running uninspiring, purposeless administration
\n“, Dakuku Peterside and his side-kick Otunba Bisi Olaniyi rehashed their
\nbeer parlour stories against Governor Wike.\u00a0 I wasn’t\u00a0 surprised that
\nThe Nation published the report which was a mere regurgitation of
\nDakuku’s previous baseless statements. If there was any editorial due
\ndiligence, The Nation would have realised that Dakuku Peterside and
\nOtunba Bisi Olaniyi have been repeating same lines on behalf of their
\nMINISTERIAL OGA.
\nI was alarmed that Dakuku Peterside would have the courage to drive all
\nthe way to Opobo with Otunba Bisi Olaniyi and a few Pro-APC reporters
\nto hold an interview against Governor Wike.\u00a0 These guys drove on the
\ndualised Sakpenwa-Bori Road and passed through the
\nOgoni-Andoni-Opobo-Nkoro Unity Road to the ancient town of Opobo where
\nthey engaged in a dance of shame.\u00a0 Dakuku Peterside was a Commissioner
\nof Works under his Ministerial OGA, but was unable\u00a0 to link his maternal
\nhome to the rest of Rivers State.
\nIt took the visionary and prudent Administration of Governor Wike to
\nlink Opobo to the rest of Rivers State.\u00a0 As a result of this outstanding
\ncontribution, the Traditional Council of Opobo Kingdom handed over the
\ngolden key\u00a0 of the ancient kingdom to Governor Wike. This is an
\nAdministration that Dakuku wants to insult to please his OGA.<\/p>\n

Dakuku’s Maternal Opobo was one of the benefitting towns in the water
\nsupply programme that Governor\u00a0 Wike executed with the\u00a0 \u00a0EU Development
\nPartners.
\nRSG-EU\/NDSP Programme covered: (1) Opobo\/Nkoro LGA : Opobo,Nkoro and
\nKalaibiama (2) Akuku-Toru LGA : Abonnema,Kula and Abissa. This is a
\nGovernor that Dakuku thinks his bad-mouth can shake.<\/p>\n

Opobo where Dakuku Peterside claims as his political base is one of the
\n17 towns that benefitted from the reconstruction of General Hospitals
\nacross the state during Governor Wike’s first term.\u00a0 Still in
\nOpobo-Nkoro Local Government Area about 7 basic education schools\u00a0 were
\nreconstructed.
\nDakuku Peterside and his Oga abandoned several projects after diverting
\nthe stupendous funds. Governor Wike completed majority of these projects
\nand initiated new projects.\u00a0 Therefore, in all the 23 Local Government
\nAreas, Governor Wike has key projects to his credit.\u00a0 He is continuing
\nwith projects delivery during his second term.\u00a0 In the first 100days of
\nhis second term, Governor Wike will roll out more completed projects in
\nall the three Senatorial Districts of the state. This is a man Dakuku
\nPeterside thinks he can malign. What an exercise in futility.<\/p>\n

At the Rivers State University, Governor Wike signature projects are
\nvisible. The Faculty of Law building, the Faculty of Medical Sciences,
\nthe Faculty of Management Sciences, the Faculty Technical Education
\nBuilding and the Students Union Secretariat are testament of the
\nGovernor’s investment in the institution.\u00a0 Today, Rivers State has a
\nTeaching Hospital.<\/p>\n

Dakuku’s Oga ran away with five months civil servants salaries and four
\nmonths pension.\u00a0 Governor Wike settled these outstanding and has been
\nconsistent in the payment of Pensioners and Civil Servants.\u00a0 The
\nContributory Pension scheme mismanaged by Dakuku’s Oga has been
\naddressed.\u00a0 The first set of Contributory Pensioners\u00a0 have been paid.
\nOthers are engaged in biometric capture for their own payment.<\/p>\n

On the issue of security, Governor Wike has continued to support the
\npromotion of security of lives and property.\u00a0 During his first term, he
\nsupported the security agencies with over 300 operational vehicles,
\narmoured personnel Carriers and gunboats.\u00a0 He also funded all
\noperations.\u00a0 This term, Governor Wike has launched Operation Sting with
\n76 Operational Vehicles, 8 gunboats, 450 communication equipment and
\narmoured personnel Carriers.
\nWith elections over, Governor Wike is working\u00a0 towards making the Rivers
\nState Neighbourhood Safety Corps operational.\u00a0 It was Dakuku Peterside
\nand his Ministerial Oga that engineered the disruption\u00a0 of the scheme
\nafter they convinced the Nigerian Army to invade the training centre at
\nNonwa Tai.\u00a0 Governor Wike is working to\u00a0 operationalise the
\nNeighbourhood Safety Corps Agency which will have over 2000 operatives.<\/p>\n

Over the last four years, Governor Wike has embarked on series of loan
\nschemes to empower civil servants and entrepreneurs.\u00a0 His projects over
\nthe last four years have generated over a hundred thousand jobs.<\/p>\n

Rivers people are not deceived by the regular rantings of Dakuku
\nPeterside.\u00a0 They understand that it is his strategy\u00a0 to pledge his
\nloyalty\u00a0 to his Ministerial Oga who has been defeated in the Rivers
\npolitical landscape.\u00a0 Dakuku forgot that during the last election, his
\nMinisterial Oga jettisoned and pitched\u00a0 tent with the bouncer of an
\nInternational boxer. With such false interviews, published in a lying
\npaper, he hopes to be endorsed to try his luck in 2023.<\/p>\n

Since the Ministerial Oga, Major General Jamil Sarhem, the 6 Division,
\nthe APC Machine and the neophyte AAC alliance lost woefully on March 9,
\n2019, Dakuku ought to have seen the handwriting on the wall. Rivers
\npeople have since rejected these anti-Rivers\u00a0 alliance.<\/p>\n

I wonder why Dakuku Peterside and his Ministerial Oga rely on lies when
\nthey could not convince the APC Federal Government to execute a single
\nproject in Rivers State since 2015. All they do is to attract political
\nviolence\u00a0 to a state that has rejected them.
\nIn seeking political relevance, Dakuku Peterside should abandon lies. He
\nhas used this strategy since 2014 to no avail. He should stop using
\nOtunba Bisi Olaniyi.\u00a0 He is a notorious mischief maker already relegated
\nby the Rivers reading public.\u00a0 Dakuku should re-strategise and contest
\nfor the Opobo-Nkoro State Constituency.\u00a0 Let him try his luck at that
\nlevel. Let him conquer his Constituency in 2023. Thereafter, he can seek
\nhigher office in 2027. Rivers State is bigger than this failed
\nCommissioner of Works who disappointed\u00a0 his people.<\/p>\n

Governor Wike remains committed\u00a0 to the development\u00a0 of Rivers State.
\nThese tales by moonlight\u00a0 cannot\u00a0 distract Governor Wike.\u00a0 He
\nappreciates the mandate freely given to him by Rivers people and he will
\nnever disappoint them.<\/p>\n
