The above excerpt from the alarm raised by former Minister of Defense,
\nGen. Theophilus Danjuma in March of 2018, calling for Nigerians to
\ndefend themselves against a systematic government orchestrated ethnic
\ncleansing, was held by some in disbelief till the bizarre events of
\nAugust the 7th when Nigeria’s police reported that men of the Nigerian
\narmy killed policemen on duty who had identified themselves and set free
\nhandcuffed kidnap kingpin suspect, “Alhaji Hamisu.”<\/p>\n

This is serious. Firstly let it be clear that the police are the only
\nlaw enforcers in Nigeria. The police are the only constitutionally
\nauthorised body that can make arrests, indict and press charges in
\ncourt. Except under military rule or martial law periods \u2013meaning when
\na state of emergency is declared\u2013 Nigeria’s military only have a
\ndomestic role as an assistant to the police. See related section below.<\/p>\n

This is obvious as the military have no handcuffs, no notebooks and like
\nany one of us “bloody civilians” are not trained in documenting civilian
\ncrimes and making submissions to the Judiciary. This is why in domestic
\nlaw enforcement, the military can only act as led and directed by the
\npolice, unless given particular duties by the National Assembly. Within
\ncivil society, soldiers have as much law enforcing rights as “bloody
\ncivilians.” Harmed, they have to report to the police as we do.<\/p>\n

INDICTMENTS: TREASON, TERROR AND ORGANIZED CRIME KIDNAPPING ENTERPRISE
\nOPERATIONS<\/p>\n

This noted, the categorical indictment contained in the August 7th
\nofficial press release by the Nigerian police is a formal indictment of
\nthe Nigerian military of terrorism, treason, aiding and abetting
\nkidnapping and frank tyranny. The devastated Nigerian police have
\ncontinued to press for military accountability via twitter hashtags.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian police force in their indictment categorically stated that
\nthe policemen killed by the Nigerian military promptly and properly
\nidentified themselves. The act of deliberately assassinating an officer
\nof the law is an act of treason and terror. The Nigerian army therefore
\nstands indicted of these heinous crimes by Nigeria’s official law
\nenforcers.<\/p>\n

Nigeria’s Anti Terrorism Act of 2011 as Amended under its “ACTS OF
\nTERRORISM AND RELATED OFFENCES” Defines:<\/p>\n

(ii) seriously intimidate a population; (iii) seriously destabilize or
\ndestroy the fundamental political, constitutional, economic or social
\nstructures of a country or an international organization; or (iv)
\notherwise influence such government or international organization by
\nintimidation or coercion; and (c) involves or causes, as the case may
\nbe\u2014 (i) an attack upon a person’s life which may cause serious bodily
\nharm or death; (ii) kidnapping of a person;<\/p>\n

The actions of the Nigerian army fall into the above descriptions of
\nacts of terror \u2013 terror to civilians, terror to enforcement officials,
\nand participation in organized kidnapping enterprise.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian police force in their indictment categorically accused
\nsoldiers of the Nigerian army of deliberately freeing one of Nigeria’s
\nmost wanted kidnapping masterminds. This indictment exposes the military
\nas conspirators, harbingers, and benefactors in the dastardly organised
\nkidnapping terror enterprise threatening the very existence of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian Police force in their indictment categorically accused
\nsoldiers of the Nigerian army, as constitutionally recognized as a
\nsecond order in law enforcement, of interference with and willful
\nobstruction of law enforcement. These are very very heavy indictments
\nand acts against the constitution in promotion of anarchy.<\/p>\n

ADMITTED GUILT: CONCERNS AND IMPLICATIONS<\/p>\n

The statement of the Nigerian army in response to the indictment by the
\nPolice serves as a culpability note and inadvertent admission of guilt
\nin treasonable crimes against the State.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian army admitted to assassinating Nigerian law enforcers on
\nofficial duty who by law have no constitutional obligation to inform the
\narmy of their missions in service to the State, an excuse the army
\nattempted to present.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian army in its admission of guilt claimed it was responding to
\na distress call of kidnap. We hereby categorically confirm that all
\nevidence indicates the call the soldiers received was a distress call
\nfrom no one other than Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume, the kidnap kingpin who
\ncommanded them to come and rescue him from the police.<\/p>\n

Blackmail: The fear of Alhaji Hamisu revealing cooperation and dealings
\nwith men of the Nigerian army, and exposing the involvement of men under
\nBuratai in the running of the organized crime kidnapping enterprise, is
\nseriously evident from the reported actions of the soldiers in freeing
\nthe suspect. It is also plausible that the officers killed were
\npolicemen who had already interrogated Alhaji Hamisu and who the
\nsoldiers assassinated to conceal links to themselves and the military
\ntop command which Alhaji Hamisu might have divulged during his arrest.<\/p>\n

We challenge the army to provide details of the phone number from which
\nthe alleged distress call came and for this record to be verified by
\nNigeria’s mobile network companies.l and independent international
\ninvestigators.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian army in its denial claimed the police shot at them first.
\nThis is a grave counter claim accusing the Nigerian police force of
\nwillfully firing at soldiers. We do not believe the Nigerian police
\nforce will take this accusation against its injured, dead and distraught
\nhonorable intelligence men lightly. By its claim the Nigerian army is
\ninferring that the police kidnapped a kidnapper. Why else will the
\npolice refuse to stop and go as far as firing at the soldiers. It is
\npeculiar to note that no soldier was reported killed or even injured in
\nthe incident.<\/p>\n

Nigeria’s police force has video evidence of its officers properly
\nidentifying themselves as the army unleashed terror on them.
\nImportantly, the army claimed to have called a “Divisional Police
\nOfficer of Ibi Police Division” to first find out if there was a police
\naction. While it is unbelievable that the army routinely first calls
\npolice stations to ask if they are on missions before responding to
\nkidnap distress calls, recent follow-up statements by the vexed and
\nfrustrated police have dismissed these as lies, with the police stating
\nthat the raid even included men from the particular police division.<\/p>\n

By admitting to killing Nigerian policemen on State duty and
\ndeliberately or inadvertently setting free an arrested terror kingpin,
\nthe Nigerian military has finally and totally rendered Nigeria lawless
\nand ungovernable. No police officer will be able to do his duty
\nhenceforth and arrest criminals, kidnappers and terrorists for fear of
\nbeing assassinated by men under General Buratai’s charge. This has far
\nreaching implications and consequences on the sovereignty of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

By not immediately suspending and arresting the accused soldiers but
\nrather pushing an inadmissible counter-narrative, General Tukur Yusuf
\nBuratai is indicted in culpable homicide, terror against the State,
\nflaunt of constitutional role and the rule of law and frank treason. By
\nallegedly freeing a kidnap kingpin, Buratai is also guilty of
\nparticipation in organized crime, State terror and kidnapping and
\nautomatically becomes chief suspect in all kidnap cases across the
\nfederation which have been happening in locations and camps known to
\nmany as Senator Abbo lamented when his family were killed and abducted.<\/p>\n

BUHARI&#39;S CULPABILITY BY ATTEMPT TO COVERUP<\/p>\n

By his coverup attempt, response to the treasonable incident, president
\nMuhammadu Buhari becomes indicted as a patron or custodian of this
\naccused military supervised kidnap enterprise. Buhari responded to the
\nindicting report by Nigeria’s law enforcers, of military treason and
\ncooperation with most wanted kidnappers, by ordering the Nigerian
\nmilitary to investigate itself. In this heinous crime, telling the
\nmilitary to investigate itself is a certain and indisputable coverup
\nfrom the highest office. This unconscionable response is not only wicked
\nand makes the president culpable in the acts against the state, but it
\nalso is in clear flaunt of the rule of law. Nigeria’s military have no
\nconstitutional right or role to investigate themselves for violations of
\nthe law, and to investigate the police. The police on the other hand are
\nconstitutionally authorized to investigate all matters bordering on law
\nenforcement within the state of Nigeria. Therefore Buhari has used his
\nauthority to protect the kidnaping establishment of Nigeria by
\nprotecting Buratai and the soldiers under his command on “bizarre” duty
\nguarding kidnap camps and going as far as killing police who arrest
\nkidnappers.<\/p>\n

This latest indictment adds on a list of not less treasonable offenses
\nNigeria’s military chiefs have been accused of which show a pattern of
\nofficers who have no respect for Nigerian citizens alive and dead.<\/p>\n

PRIOR CASES OF CRIMES AGAINST THE STATE AND HUMANITY BY NIGERIAN
\nMILITARY TOP COMMAND:<\/p>\n

1. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai was indicted by a Kaduna state governor
\nNasir el-Rufai judicial panel in the massacre of at least 347 shia
\nminority Muslims and their secret midnight burial in a mass grave at
\nMando cemetery. Buratai and by extension President Muhammadu Buhari are
\njointly indicted in this case for not acting upon the report of the
\npanel and punishing the indicted soldiers including major General
\nOlukayode.\u00a0 (See confession:

2. General Tukur Buratai in 2016 was implicated in the massacre of at
\nleast 100 Igbo youth in Onitsha and the alleged secret mass burial of

3. Recently the wall street journal repeated and validated calls
\nconcerned Nigerians and activists like Aisha Yesufu of BringBackOurGirls
\nhad made about secret burials of dead Nigerian soldiers. The Nigerian
\narmy under its leadership is accused of suppressing actual figures of
\nsoldiers dead to the extent it buries them en masse in secret to push a
\npolitical tale of victory over Boko Haram.<\/p>\n

NIGERIAN NEEDS TOTAL SECURITY AND LEADERSHIP OVERHAUL<\/p>\n

We will never let this matter be swept under the carpet till there is
\ntotal justice and true change. The fear of Nigeria’s military being
\nhired protectors and collaborators of kidnappers and terrorists ravaging
\nthe country, and getting so brazen they kill our police officers to
\nconceal their atrocities and release criminals is terminal. Buhari and
\nhis inSecurity chiefs have been known to be guilty by negligence and
\ncorruption, but this dimension of guilty by design and collaboration
\ncannot continue without capital justice and leadership change.<\/p>\n

We call on the world to come to our aid. The Nigerian police are the
\nlatest victims in crimes they have been a part of, but we cannot survive
\nwithout our police and stand by them in their time of desperation as
\nthey become the latest part of the nation’s #RevolutionNow cries to end
\ninjustice, despotism, abusive impunity and frank tyranny!<\/p>\n
