kinsmen of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, under the aegis of Enugu West
\nPeople’s Parliament have demanded a thorough investigation, arrest and
\nprosecution of those who planned and carried out the attack on Sen. Ike
\nEkweremadu in Germany.<\/p>\n
In a statement made available to newsmen in Awka on Tuesday, they also
\nrequested an explanation by the organizers of the Iri-ji celebration in
\nNuremberg and why they failed to provide security for the Senator.<\/p>\n
The statement which was jointly signed by the National Secretary Hon.
\nCletus Akalusi, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele, National Publicity Secretary and
\nOkey Ozoani, Organizing Secretary condemned the attack describing it as
\na sacrilege which must not be swept under the carpet.<\/p>\n
While describing the attack as sacrilegious the kinsmen described the
\nIPOB members involved in the act as cowards.<\/p>\n
They condemned the act as well as the threats by the outlawed group to
\nattack South East governors and other Igbo leaders.<\/p>\n
They urged the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Nigerian Embassy in
\nGermany and the Nigerian Diaspora Commission to rise to the occasion to
\nensure that culprits are brought to book.<\/p>\n
They urged other Igbo diaspora organizations to note the threats of the
\nIPOB miscreants masquerading as those fighting Igbo agenda and ensure
\nthat adequate security is provided in all genuine Igbo activities
\nabroad.<\/p>\n
“We urge the current Igbo leaders currently occupying various political
\nand cultural positions not to be distracted by the IPOB threats in their
\npassionate efforts to serve the Igbo nation.<\/p>\n
“Let’s place it on record that the Senator has done so much for his
\nconstituents, the Igbo nation, Nigeria and the West Africa sub region.<\/p>\n
“Within his constituency and the South East of Nigeria, Ekweremadu has
\ndemonstrated quality representation by attracting numerous
\ninfrastructure including roads, bridges, water projects, dams,
