Ohanaeze Youth Council , OYC, Worldwide has warned that it would resist
\nfurther attack on political leaders of Igbo extraction\u00a0 and urged Ndigbo
\nto ignore those calling on them to embarrass their leaders.<\/p>\n
It stated that the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu has created panic in
\nIgbo land, and urged Ndigbo living abroad to stop embarrassing
\nthemselves and casting the race in bad light.<\/p>\n
The group in a statement by its National President, Mazi Okechukwu
\nIsiguzoro, said it had advanced efforts to pacify all agitators to
\nshelve their swords and pursue dialogue.<\/p>\n
‘We condemn the attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu as a disgrace to
\nNdigbo. We shun violence and pursue dialogue. We will resist further
\nattack on Igbo political leaders.\u00a0 Ndigbo, at home or abroad, must be
\ncareful not to engage in actions that will cast the Igbo race in bad
\nlight. Ndigbo should ignore the N1 million reward placed on South East
\ngovernors. Other ethnic groups are laughing at Ndigbo pretending to be
\nin solidarity. How many times have the militants from the Niger Delta
\nembarrassed their leaders? When have you seen the OPC assault their
\nleaders or the Northern youths embarrass their leaders? Ndigbo should
\nnot allow themselves to be ridiculed. Enough is enough.”<\/p>\n
The youth group further urged Igbo political leaders to pursue good
\ngovernance and welfare of their citizens across the 95 council areas of
