landlord and his son in Umudim-Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government
\nArea of Anambra state.<\/p>\n

She was reportedly beaten up by her landlord identified as Obidike
\ntogether with his son for asking them to stop using their vehicles to
\nblock her salon shop.<\/p>\n

The trouble ensued when the landlord, on arrival to his house, parked
\nhis car in front of the salon, which resulted into a brawl.<\/p>\n

Igwe told newsmen on her hospital bed at Glory hospital and Maternity,
\nUmudim Nnewi that the landlord strangled her after hitting her with the
\ndrier in her salon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pleaded with him to shift the car from blocking my shop but instead
\nof yielding, the landlord told me to pack out of the shop and that he
\nwould deal with me when his son returned in the evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe son later arrived with his tipper, came with his father into my
\nsalon and used the drier in my salon to hit me.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe held me by the neck and tried to strangled me and I fell down
\nunconscious. The next place I saw myself was at Glory hospital and
\nMaternity,\u00a0 Umudim Knew,\u2019\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

Igwe said it was after she recovered that she saw a female police
\nofficer who introduced herself as Inspector Nneka, the investigating
\npolice\u00a0 officer (IPO), from Central Police Station, Nnewi.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe took my statement and told me that Onyeka who beat and tried to
\nstrangled me has been arrested but that they were yet to arrest his
\nfather.<\/p>\n

\u201cI later learnt that he was granted bail while his father has not been
\narrested,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

She appealed to the state commissioner of police, John Abang, to come to
\nher aid by ensuring
\nthat the suspects face the wrath of the law.<\/p>\n

The counsel to the victim, Mr Kanayo C. Muoneke, in a petition to the
\nstate Commissioner of Police which was made available to newsmen, urged
\nthe CP to intervene.<\/p>\n

It noted that the victim had almost passed away if not for divine
\nintervention.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresently, the victim can\u2019t conveniently eat because of the injuries
\nsustained and the suspects are celebrating the victim\u2019s fate,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
