Imo State Police Command Tuesday, paraded three persons suspected to<\/div>\n

have a hand in the gruesome murder of one Hon. Christopher Anoruo in
\nEgwe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State in March, 2019.<\/p>\n

Parading the suspects at the Imo State Police Headquarters, Police
\nPublic Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu explained that the arrest of
\nthe suspects followed discreet investigation and hard work.<\/p>\n

According to him,\u00a0 “on the 11th of March, 2019, the Imo State Police
\ncommand received a report of robbery and assassination of one Hon.
\nChristopher Anorue in Egwe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
\nSome hoodlums, numbering three, entered the house of the deceased,
\nrobbed them of their valuables like phones, laptop and abducted the same
\nHon. Christopher Anorue. They took him out and about two poles away from
\nhis house, they assassinated him. Following the report, Commissioner of
\nPolice, Rabiu Ladodo ordered investigation into the matter. Through
\npainstaking and discreet investigation, the phones of the deceased were
\ntraced to Hassan Kabiru. When he was arrested, he said one Chimezie gave
\nhim the phone and when Chimezie was arrested, he said the phone was
\ngiven to him by Solomon Onyemaechi. That necessitated their arrest and
\ninvestigation continued. The arrested suspects will be charged for
\nrobbery and murder.”<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Police paraded about thirteen suspected cultists,
\narrested on their way from an initiation.<\/p>\n

“We intercepted an 18-seater bus. Upon reasonable suspicion, the
\nstop-and-search team of the Police decided to search them. It was
\ndiscovered that they are members of the Black Axe confraternity. A
\nlocally made Pistol, wraps of Indian Hemp and Live ammunitions were
\nrecovered from them.”<\/p>\n

Speaking to newsmen, leader of the group, Nkwocha Chinaza explained that
\nthey had initiated thirteen new members same day. He further stated that
\nthey were students of Imo State University, Owerri and Alvan Ikoku
\nCollege of Education, respectively.<\/p>\n

In another development, the Police paraded a ‘Prophet’ and other
\nsuspected killers of one Princewill Ezeji in Imo State.<\/p>\n

“On the 3rd of August, 2019, the Imo State Police command received an
\ninformation on a missing person, one Princewill Obinna Ezeji\u00a0 and the
\nCommissioner of Police detailed officers and men to unravel the mystery
\nbehind the sudden disappearance of the victim.\u00a0 Following a thorough and
\npainstaking investigation, it was discovered that the said Princewill
\nbought a Toyota Camry car and went to his Prophet with the sum of Ten
\nThousand Naira and some drinks, to show him the car and ask for his
\nblessings , in appreciation of God’s favour.\u00a0 Unfortunately, that was
\nthe end of his life.”<\/p>\n

“Upon investigation, it was discovered that the prophet killed the man
\nand took the vehicle. The phones belonging to the victim have also been
\nrecovered. Upon interrogation, he took us to the place he was buried and
\nthe remains, in carcass were recovered.”<\/p>\n

Addressing newsmen earlier in his office, Tuesday evening, Imo State
\nCommissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo assured people of the state of the
\ncommitment of the police in the state to ensure security of lives and
\nproperty.<\/p>\n

He assured residents of Oguta Local Government Area and the State at
\nlarge, of adequate security, urging people of the area to go about their
\nnormal businesses without fear of harassment.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
