The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenges the Presidency to speak
\nout on the reported arrest of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s known
\nconfidant, Nasir Danu, at the Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom, for
\nalleged passport scam and money laundering.<\/p>\n
The PDP, in a statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, “insists that the
\nsilence by the Presidency on the matter since the report of Danu\u2019s
\narrest and deportation is self-indicting, particularly given his
\nreported confessions and alleged links to persons closely related to Mr.
\nPresident.<\/p>\n
“This is in addition to apprehensions in the public space that he was
\ncaught while allegedly ferrying stolen currencies for persons said to be
\nclose to the Presidency.<\/p>\n
“The party says the Buhari Presidency must also speak out on this huge
\nscandal and allegations that Danu\u2019s has been in the business of
\nconnecting the said close relation of the President with many oil
\ncontractors for alleged underhand deals through which billions of naira
\nget frittered.<\/p>\n
“The PDP notes that this is beside allegations of being a front for
\nscandalous contracts running into billions of naira from the Central
\nBank of Nigeria (CBN), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
\n(NNPC) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, among
\nother government agencies.<\/p>\n
“The party cautions the Buhari Presidency to perish the thoughts of
\nconcealing this scandal as it is already in the public domain with
\nNigerians demanding for investigations.<\/p>\n
“The PDP therefore charges the Buhari Presidency to immediately order an
\nopen investigation into the matter and expose those in this scandalous
\nracket.<\/p>\n
“Nigerians can now further see how the Buhari Presidency stinks. Our
\nparty therefore insists that for a government that always orchestrates
\nclaims of integrity and zero tolerance for corruption, it behoves on the
\nPresidency to come clean as well as order an investigation into this
