There are strong indications that the All Progressive Congress (APC), \u00a0may have dumped the idea of making Babagana Kingibe its standard bearer in the 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com<\/a>\u00a0sources within the party\u2019s top echelon said the party is considering the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari. Kyari, \u00a0seen by many as the defacto president, makes every key decisions in the Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s government. He is believed to be leader of the cabal that controls the presidency.<\/p>\n

Kingibe hails from\u00a0Borno State\u00a0in the northeastern part of Nigeria, and is of Kanuri\u00a0extraction.\u00a0 Kingibe who was chairman of the Social Democratic Party, SPD and later Vice Presidential\u00a0 candidate to late MKO Abiola who won the 1993 presidential election.<\/p>\n

He later joined late General\u00a0Sani Abacha\u00a0as the\u00a0Foreign Minister\u00a0of\u00a0Nigeria\u00a0from 1993 to 1995. Kingibe also served as Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Power and Steel, Nigeria\u2019s Ambassador to Greece and Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The arrowhead of the endorsement of Kyari is Mamman Daura, President Buhari\u2019s uncle who currently resides in the presidential villa and also a power broker. This group are not disposed to Kingibe because they claim he is too old, he is 74, and that his role in the annulment of the 1993 presidential election may turn off those sympathetic to late Abiola in the South West .<\/p>\n

Kyari\u2019s choice, sources say, was a natural one considering his power and clout in the presidency, and how most top politicians and businessmen hold him in awe.<\/p>\n

Pointblanknews.com<\/a>\u00a0also learnt that the plot to push out Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is on. The new pick is Foreign Affairs minister,Godfrey Onyeama who is of \u00a0Igbo extraction. The calculation is,\u00a0 the choice will impress the South East since the South West already has the Speaker\u2019s slot.<\/p>\n

Another reason for Onyeama\u2019s choice is his laid back attitude and that he is not a politician with political godfathers like Osinbajo who has godfathers like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who may want to rock the boat.<\/p>\n

The cabal has neutralized Tinubu and made his man, Osinbajo a figure head. Most of Tinubu\u2019s ministerial candidates, like Yemi Cardozo, Wole Edun\u00a0 and others were rejected, while his rumored 2023 presidential election is being watched closely.<\/p>\n

The VP, \u00a0and by extension Tinubu have been silenced while the plot to impeach the VP is on as the Senate President and Speaker have been co-opted into the plot. Sources told\u00a0Pointblanknews.com<\/a>\u00a0that both have agreed in principle in so far their seats are secured.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the cabal has directed that more dirt be dug up on the VP from areas like NEMA, The Tradermoni Program, Social Security Investment Funds etc. There are tons of allegations of embezzlement and mismanagement of funds against the VP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
