The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised embattled Kogi State
\nGovernor Yahaya Bello to read the handwriting on the wall, do himself
\ngood by accepting defeat and stop wasting public funds on fruitless
\ncampaign.<\/p>\n
The PDP, according to a statement signed by Kola ologbondiyan “affirms
\nthat it already has the support of over 70 percent of registered voters
\nin 18 out of the 21 local governments across the state, even ahead of
\nits official campaign flag-off ceremony in Lokoja on Friday, in
\npreparation for PDP\u2019s inevitable landslide victory at the November 16
\ngovernorship election.<\/p>\n
“The party notes that though it has uncovered plots by the APC and
\ndistressed Governor Bello to frustrate the flag-off ceremony, our
\nmembers and supporters, in their millions, are already several steps
\nahead, ready to confront and stop the APC and Governor Bello on their
\ntrails.<\/p>\n
“Since we kicked off our grassroots campaigns in the last few weeks, the
\nPDP has continued to receive overwhelming support, solidarity and
\nendorsements from all segments of the voting population including
\npolitical leaders and community groups, workers, pensioners, students,
\nyouth groups, business groups, professionals, and a host of other
\nKogites who have become despondent with the excruciating misrule of
\nYahaya Bello.<\/p>\n
“This army of the Kogi people is fully rallied against any plot by the
\nAPC to derail any stage of the electoral process and they will not allow
\nany infringement by anybody, no matter the machination.<\/p>\n
“Governor Bello and the APC ought to have known that it is all over for
\nthem. The spontaneous public jubilation that greeted the retrieval of
\nPDP\u2019s mandate of Barrister Shaba Ibrahim, for the Lokoja\/Kogi Federal
\nConstituency, at the Court of Appeal, despite the machinations of the
\nAPC, reinforces the imminent triumph of the PDP and the people in the
\nNovember 16 governorship election.<\/p>\n
“The people of Kogi state are ready for this election and cannot wait to
\nkick out Governor Bello and vote in their candidate, PDP\u2019s Engr. Musa
\nWada as their next governor.<\/p>\n
“The PDP therefore calls on all Kogites; including all those that have
\nbeen impoverished by Yahaya Bello; those who were unjustly sacked, those
\nwho were orphaned and widowed by this administration as well as all
\nthose desirous of seeing a new Kogi state to continue in their
\ndetermination to rescue the state from the repressive rule of the APC.”<\/p>\n
