Th Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr
\nPeter Obi has called on Nigerians to continue to have faith in the
\ncountry with assurances that by their active participation, good
\ngovernance would one day be enthroned.<\/p>\n
Obi made the call on Thursday in Onitsha, Anambra state during the
\ninstallation of Pharm Chris Ukachukwu as the new President of Onitsha
\nChambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OCCIMA).<\/p>\n
He oberseved that no responsible Nigerian should be happy over how
\nthings have turned out in the country.
\nThe immediate past governor of Anambra State regretted total lack of
\nconfidence in essential infrastructure in the country, especially health
\ninfrastructure.<\/p>\n
He called on government to pay attention to basic infrastructure and
\nrestore hope in the country.<\/p>\n
Obi said it was because of his conviction that Nigeria could do well
\nthat made him support the rebuilding of health infrastructure, among
\nothers, when he was the Governor.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince I left government, apart from attending events at Lagos, Abuja
\nand other parts of the country, I live here in Onitsha. I confidently
\nmake use of Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha, because when I was
\nthe governor, I supported the rebuilding of the hospital as well as many
\nothers in different parts of the state.<\/p>\n
“When I read about the complex heart operations taking place at St.
\nJoseph Hospital Adazi-Nnukwu, I feel happy I was part of it. There is
\none thing our people do not know \u2013 when one serves the people very well,
\nwhich is not about making money, one will feel a sense of satisfaction
\nand fulfilment which is far more precious than money because it is
\npriceless,\u201d\u00a0 he said.<\/p>\n
Obi advised the newly installed OCCIMA President to always be alive to
\nhis responsibilities, especially in the area of restoring Onitsha to a
\nbusiness-friendly town it used to be.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Pharm Ukachukwu said he was overwhelmed by the calibre of
\npeople that attended his installation and promised not to disappoint the
\npeople of the state.<\/p>\n
He said the thrust of his leadership would be the sustained improvement
\nof the business climate at Onitsha.<\/p>\n
The new OCCIMA President assured that his office would also concentrate
\non capacity building.<\/p>\n
According to him,\u00a0 they have visited the burnt Ochanja market at
\nOnitsha, and assured they were working with the market leadership to
