The Rivers Government on Monday said plans were underway to digitalise the legal processes in the state for speedy delivery of justice.<\/p>\n
The state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Worgu Boms revealed this to newsmen in Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n
Boms said that though the judiciary had not shown enough interest in transiting to digital technology, the plan would be of great advantage to the system.<\/p>\n
“It is worrisome that the judiciary seems the slowest in transiting to the use of technology in delivering its services.<\/p>\n
“This has not helped the system at all, we need to key into the modern trend in justice delivery,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Boms said that in the new plan, courts would be provided with state of the art digital equipment that would ensure speedy and efficient justice delivery.<\/p>\n
“We will meet with lawyers too, our thinking and way of doing the job has to change, the lawyer also has to be prepared to be part of the transition.<\/p>\n
