The relationship between the media in Nigeria and construction giant,<\/div>\n

Julius Berger is easily likened to the interdependent relationship
\nbetween a mother and unborn child, the Executive Director,
\nAdministration of JBN, Alhaji Zubairu\u00a0 Ibrahim Bayi has said even as
\nNational Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Malam Leman
\nShaibu in Abuja, lauded the construction company for its faithfulness as
\nNigeria\u2019s most reliable and consistent infrastructural development
\npartner as well as for the company\u2019s proactive and continuous
\nrecognition of efforts of journalists as comrades in progress.<\/p>\n

At a similar parley which held in Lagos at the weekend, the Lagos State
\nChairman of the NUJ, Dr. Quasim Akinreti also saluted Julius Berger\u2019s
\napparent, dependable and enduring loyalty to the development of sound
\ninfrastructure all across the country, saying Lagos stands strong on the
\nsolid engineering structures built by Julius Berger, beginning with the
\nEko bridge which the company built since 1965. He urged the company not
\nto relent in its visibly excellent professional discharge of its
\nprojects.<\/p>\n

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc hosted journalists in two separate parleys;
\nmid last week\u00a0 in Abuja and weekend in Lagos.<\/p>\n

According to Alhaji Bayi, the event was an opportunity to thank and
\nappreciate journalists. In his opening remarks in the Abuja event, Bayi
\nsaid: \u201c\u2026 the relationship between Julius Berger and the Media can at its
\nmost serious be likened to the interdependence of the mother and the
\nbaby in the womb bound together by the umbilical cord for a fruitful end
\nto produce life, and at its most hilarious context, the \u201cTom & Jerry\u201d
\nact which exemplifies the ultimate revelation of an inescapable affinity
\nand survivalist need for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the purpose of the end of year parley with the press was to
\nappreciate the journalists\u2019 \u201chealthy understanding and objective
\nreportage throughout the work year\u201d,\u00a0 adding that, \u201cyour competent
\nprofessionalism has been more than helpful to our business and work.\u201d
\nAlhaji Bayi reminded invitees that every time the company is privileged
\nto host the media practitioners in the past, he had shared with them
\n\u201cour mutual secret; that both the media and our company do our work in
\nthe public domain. Your good and fair work, indeed your fine and
\nrespectable professionalism has helped to reasonably debunk every lie
\nand wrong notions about the work we do in our country,\u201d the Executive
\nDirector further said.<\/p>\n

On the peculiar relationship between the media and the Julius Berger, he
\nsaid it is an interesting, enduring and inescapable mix of assignments
\nand purpose between the two saying, \u201cthe media will never turn a blind
\neye to our understandably impactful construction activities; and we must
\nrely on the objective competence and industry of the robust Nigerian
\nmedia to help us enlighten the public about the truly long-term benefits
\nof our work over any temporary inconveniences it may seem to cause the
\ngood public.\u201d The media, which Bayi described as a great opinion
\nmoulder, he continued, \u201chas graciously, objectively continued to speak
\nand write to enlighten the public about the work we do in the best
\ninterest of the people\u201d.<\/p>\n

He thus pledged the company\u2019s sincere commitment \u201cthrough our proactive
\nand friendly Media Relations Office headed by your energetic colleague,
\nPrince Moses Duku,\u201d to sustain and continue to promote the healthy
\nrelationship with media practitioners in the country.<\/p>\n

At the Abuja event, National Secretary of the Nigerian Union of
\nJournalists (NUJ), Mr. Leman Shaibu lauded Julius Berger for its
\n\u201cconsistency in not only being historically and presently professional
\nin the discharge of its various jobs across the country, but also, for
\nbeing able to create and sustain its excellent friendship with the
\nrobust Nigerian Media.\u201d Mr. Leman Shaibu challenged journalists to
\nappropriately, harmoniously relate with such deserving organisations
\neven as he tasked them to be well guided by the relevant laws of the
\nland.<\/p>\n

In Lagos, Chairman of the state Chapter of the NUJ, Dr. Quasim Akinreti,
\nspoke glowingly in thanking Julius Berger for identifying with the media
\nso well. He tasked the company not to relent in the verifiably good work
\nit is doing all across Lagos and Nigeria. He assured Julius Berger of a
\nprogressively smoother friendship from the media in the future.<\/p>\n

Both events were attended by staff of the company as well as media
\npublishers and senior practicing journalists. In Abuja, Julius Berger\u2019s
\nteam was led by the Executive Director administration, Alhaji Zubairu
\nIbrahim Bayi with Alh. Dr Abdulaziz Kaita, Engr. Dr Mohammed Amodu
\nIsmaila and Olorunfemi Ojomo also in attendance. The Heads of the
\ncompany\u2019s Media Relations Office, Prince Moses Duku, and Corporate
\nCommunications Development, Mr. James Agama amongst others were also at
\nthe event. At the Lagos event, the Regional Manager, Mr. Alexander Bauer
\nalongside Prince Moses Duku, Mr Agama and the Project Coordinator,
\nLagos-Shagamu Expressway, Engr. Fatima Kosemani and others were in
\nattendance.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
