First Lady of Nigeria, Dr. Mrs. Aisha Buhari has distributed food items<\/div>\n
\n
to the people of Kano State through her pet-project Future Assured. The
\nFirst Lady’s delegation was on a mercy mission to Kano state from 17th
\nto 18th January, 2020.<\/p>\n

The First Lady, in her goodwill message delivered by Alhaji Mohammed
\nUsman Albishir, Special Assistant to the President on Organization of
\nAfrican First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) said her passion for
\nending hunger and childhood malnutrition does not start and end with
\ncovering meetings and making compound declarations. She said she
\nbelieved in being practical and taking action towards a definite
\ntangible desire.
\n“It was this passion that drove me and my team in 2016 to roll out the
\nGET INVOLVED nutrition campaign, where we mobilized food support through
\na crowd sourcing mechanism for vulnerable population.” She said.
\nMrs. Buhari said as mother of the nation, she is driven by love and
\ncompassion for the weak and the most vulnerable in our society.
\n“Today, my team and I are once again here in Kano in continuation of our
\nefforts in reaching out to the people of Kano State through the food
\ndistribution program for the benefit of the masses”. The First Lady also
\nadded that similar support is currently ongoing throughout the country.
\nAmong the groups that benefitted from this round of food distribution
\nprogrammes are the Kano State Road Traffic Authority\u00a0 (KAROTA), various
\norphanages in Kano State, Hisbah Board, Kannywood Movie Hub, an NGO
\n(Today’s Life Foundation), and a cancer patient, Mallam Idris Yunusa,
\nwho was visited at home\u00a0 and personally delivered the food items by the
\nFirst Lady’s team.<\/p>\n

The food items distributed in Kano at the Sani Abacha Stadium Indoor
\nHall, Kano included large number of bags of rice, Cartons of Spaghetti,
\nGallons of oils and some warm clothes for the harmattan season.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bappa DanAgundi, the Managing Director of KAROTA who delivered the
\nvote of thanks on behalf of the Government Agencies beneficiaries
\nexpressly thanked the First Lady for her humanitarian gestures, he also
\ncalled on other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Nigerian First
\nLady while assuring her that all items will reach the intended
\nbeneficiaries. He further called on his corps members to help all other
\norganizations in ensuring the food items were delivered safely to their
\nvarious destinations.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Ibrahim Mandawari also gave vote of thanks on behalf of the
\nindustrious Kannywood, in his remarks he recanted the economic
\nconditions of the Country when President Muhammadu Buhari came on board
\nand expressed satisfaction that the administration of President
\nMuhammadu Buhari is steadily but surely restoring the country to the
\npath of economic growth and development. He stated that the good
\ngestures of the First Lady did not come as a surprise to the Kannywood
\nMovie Industry as they were used to such kindness from the First Lady.<\/p>\n

The First Lady’s delegation was led by Mr. Hadi Uba, the Special
\nAssistant to the President on Administration (Office of the First Lady)
\nAliyu Abdullahi, Special Assistant to the President on Media and
\nPublicity (Office of the First Lady), Alhaji Mohammed Usman Albishir,
\nSpecial Assistant to the President on OFLAD, Mrs. Rose Audu and Saidu
\nSuleiman of the Future Assured Program and Aisha Buhari Foundation.<\/p><\/div>\n
