A couple has been arrested for allegedly buying a 10-year old girl in<\/div>\n

Onitsha, Anambra State.
\nThe victim, Favour Asuqwo suspected to have been stolen from Akwa Ibom
\nsince 2018 was reportedly sold to the suspects in the commercial city of
\nthe state for the sum of N800,000.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the suspects had changed the victim’s name to Faith
\nEzeukwu soon after they bought her over.<\/p>\n

The victim has also been rescued by the police.<\/p>\n

The police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed confirmed the arrest on Sunday,
\nsaying the suspects was arrested by police detectives following
\nintelligence report.<\/p>\n

He however said the abductors were still at large.<\/p>\n

He said, “On the 21\/2\/2020, a girl child of about 10 years old
\nreasonably suspected to have been stolen from Akwa Ibom State since 2018
\nand sold to a couple in Anambra State at the rate of Eight Hundred
\nThousand Naira (N800,000) was rescued by Police detectives attached to
\n33 division, Onitsha following intelligence report.<\/p>\n

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the child’s original name was
\nFavour Asuqwo before her “new parents” the suspects who are now in
\npolice custody gave her a new name as Faith Ezeukwu after they allegedly
\nbought her from her captors presently at large.<\/p>\n

“Anyone with useful information about the rescued child should report at
\nthe 33 Police Station Onitsha or contact PPRO Anambra State Police
\nCommand headquarters Awka through GSM no 08060970639 to enable the
\nvictim’s biological parents or close relatives identify her.”<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“These steps, the Rights group said are imperative because both the boko
\nharam terrorists and other related armed attackers have continuously
\nmade good their threats to uproot Christianity from the entirety of
\nNorthern Nigeria even as the RIGHTS GROUP blamed the skewed anti-
\nChristian land policies in some states in the North West of Nigeria

\nAdamawa State for six hours on Friday night. The town is located on the
\nGombi-Biu \u2013 Damaturu Road, which shares proximity with Southern Borno
\nand Sambisa Forest.Reports say police barracks, churches and a house
\nbelonging to Gen Paul Tarfa (retd.) were among several buildings burnt
\nby the terrorists during the attack.Meanwhile, the Islamic State’s West
\nAfrica Province is said to have claimed responsibility for the attack,
\nalleging that they killed three soldiers and took some worshippers in a
\nchurch hostage in addition to other villagers in the community. How on
\nearth with scorched- earth terror agenda of eliminating the presence of
\nChristians and CHRISTIANITY be allowed by the Federal government to
\ncontinue to manifest and unfold? Why will the Federal government be busy
\nspreading half-baked PROPAGANDA to attempt to deny the existence of a
\nwell-oiled plots by Islamic terror groups and armed Fulani mercenaries
\nto wipe off Christians even when the plotters have successfully carried

\nChristians and urged the Nigerian authority to listen to the voices of
\nreason and work out how to stop this rapidly expanding threats against
\nChristians and to openly invite the United Nations Security council to
\nprovide PEACE ENFORCERS TO\u00a0 KEEP MEMBERS OF THE CHRISTIAN MINORITY
\nTRIBES NOW UNDER ATTACKS IN ALL OF THE NORTH EAST AND NORTHWEST SAFE
\nBECAUSE AS IT IS THE NIGERIAN MILITARY IS OVERWHELMED.<\/p>\n

HURIWA invites President Muhammadu Buhari to sit back and read the
\nfactual newspaper accounts from the victims of the recent Adamawa
\nattacks and take steps to assure Nigerians that his government is not in
\na conspiratorial silence whilst the genocides against Christians go on

\nmarket, churches; EYN, Living Faith and Anglican burnt. Rural health
\ncentre, two ambulances burnt while another two taken by the
\ninsurgents.The saddest part is that some people from the very town of
