{"id":72041,"date":"2020-03-05T14:23:55","date_gmt":"2020-03-05T13:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/?p=72041"},"modified":"2020-03-05T14:23:55","modified_gmt":"2020-03-05T13:23:55","slug":"obi-of-onitsha-anyaoku-others-endorse-soludos-vision-for-anambra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pointblanknews.com\/pbn\/news\/obi-of-onitsha-anyaoku-others-endorse-soludos-vision-for-anambra\/","title":{"rendered":"Obi of Onitsha, Anyaoku, others endorse Soludo&#8217;s vision for Anambra \u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, a former Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and other members of the Anambra Elders&#8217; Council have commended Prof. Chukwuma Soludo&#8217;s vision for Anambra State.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>They also approved that Anambra\u00a0South Senatorial District should produce the next governor of the state in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>They stated this in a meeting held at Governor&#8217;s Lodge at Amawbia\u00a0<a dir=\"ltr\" data-mt-detrack-inspected=\"true\" data-mt-detrack-attachment-inspected=\"true\">on Wednesday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by the Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Prof Solo Chukwudebelu, said the meeting was well attended.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read partly, &#8220;The meeting was well attended by persons from different walks of life, including Governor Willie Obiano, FCA, KCSG; Chairman of the Anambra State Elders Council, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, GCON; and Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Nnaemeka A. Achebe, CFR, Obi of Onitsha. The meeting critically reviewed events in the state over the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Council received the briefing from Governor Obiano through a documentary on the key achievements of his administration since March, 2014. The council commended the administration\u2019s scorecard.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Council was comprehensively briefed on the building of Anambra International Cargo\/Passenger Airport at Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area.<\/p>\n<p>Members were satisfied with the pace of work, the choice of internationally reputable contractors in the construction and the 15-month deadline to deliver the airport and the business prospects of the airport. Members also expressed delight that the airport will be completed without a loan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The meeting received a presentation from the Chairman of the Anambra State Vision 2070 Committee, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
